This will be an interesting test. Who will get more attention next year: Swedish Symetra Tour star Sagstrom, or top-ten-in-the-world powerhouse Sung Hyun Park? Hmmmm....duh...my 4 year old grandson can answer the above.....and he doesn't even know what the LPGA is. White skinned blonde pro vs. yellow skinned black hair pro.

In a fair world, they would get at worst equal coverage, but in all honesty, Park should be far more in the spotlight given her resume (when was the last time a Symetra Tour graduate, even a superstar, amounted to anything on the LPGA?). My bet, though, is that Sagstrom will get much more attention. If Sagstrom was a classic Swede beauty..... for sure...but she's not.....Terminator will get all the attention. On a REAL golf forum like WRX...the members talk about the Terminator...Sagstrom...not so much.

Yeah, Park doesn't speak English. But nonetheless... we are talking a player who has all the potential to be a Ya Ni-in-2011 world beater. She deserves the pub! This is so LAUGHABLE....the Terminator has yet to win a LPGA event and you're hoping for a 2011 Yani like performance....LMAO. Even the Wunderkind won a LPGA in her limited starts....but you can make some Ko vs. Yani comparisons....Lydia is at the start of her Yani like downward spiral....and there's no stopping it...LEADPOISONING....nuff said.

SHP is ready to win in the big league, with ROY pretty much in the bag. But I think you are short changing the appeal of the Terminator, judging from the amount of love she is getting from WRX and SS. She got a gorgeous swing and hits it a mile. Her tomboyish look also gives her a very distinct appeal (not necessarily limited to the "female softball players" ). Hard to predict how Sagstrom will do. The worst case she could be the next Cindy Lacrosse, dominates the Symetra but not able to raise her game to the next level. In the best case she could have a Alison Lee type of rookie season. But I don't see her making a splash in the big league yet. If my prediction stands, then I would say SHP gets more coverage.

Good analogy...another Cindy in the making....if Sagstrom was superior....we'd be hearing more of her....who cares about winning in the minor leagues....she was competing against a bunch of washouts or re-treads.

The article has a quote from Judy Rankin, speculating that the current generation of Americans hasn't produced a great putter. My first reaction was that she was just grasping at straws...but, maybe she stumbled over the truth. Check out the latest American Collapse article: www.espn.com/espnw/sports/article/18062758/the-shaky-state-women-golf-game-americaI don't pay much attention to the LPGA stats, so this section stunned me: At age 21, Thompson, who won her first LPGA event at 16, has seven career wins, including a major. Rarely, though, is her putting as good as her powerful ball-striking. Thompson is ranked 61st in putts per green in regulation for 2016.
Inkster laughed when informed that, at age 56, she is the only American in the top 10 in that important statistical category.
"Lexi and Gerina, too, they're good putters but not great putters," Inkster says. "You can say what you want about hitting the ball, but if you're not putting well, you're not going to win. When Lexi wins, she putts well. That's the bottom line. Most of the Asian players can roll the rock. That's where you make your living."***** Ask me to name a GREAT American putter that has joined the LPGA in the last 12 years...only one player comes to mind, Paula Creamer. She was T-3 in three of her first four LPGA season in PGIR...just crazy good...now she's 63rd. After checking the stats, I underrated Stacy Lewis in PGIR. I had no idea she was 1st in 2015! You wouldn't know it from her demeanor. She's down to 20th this year. But the Yanks do have better manicures and hair ribbons...just sayin.

I don't see the Wunderkind going down Yani's path. Yani's whole game is set up by her driver, ala Rory Mcilroy, once she lost control of her driver, she's toasted. Lydia has her world class short game and putting to fall back to, while sorting out her long game issues. Queen Bee was struggling with her ball striking 5 years ago, similarly her short game and putting was able to keep her somewhat afloat until she fixed her long game. And the rest , is history.

Sagstrom averaged 70.3. Someone else was 70.6 and then it dropped off a cliff.
She probably portends to be a top 30 player reasonably. If she can putt maybe top 15. Beyond that, well see.
Having to cover American golfers just to scare up a few more American readers sounds like a job I would pass on.

I wouldn't say that most of the Asians are great putters, but at the very least they are decent (Ariya for instance). Some really are great (Inbee obviously, In Gee, and if you want to include her, Lydia). Yes, if you throw Dumbo's name in the mix , then I very much want to include the wunderkind, who is #1 in putting this year. I meant that Lydia, for the most part, is not included as an Asian in these discussions because she is from New Zealand and grew up speaking English. Of course she is a great putter.

I fear it will be Golf Channel, et al. Look, In Gee came into this season with a US Women's Open title, a dominating record overseas, top ten in the world rankings and with proven star power in Asia, yet she didn't even get a Rookie profile from Golf Channel, while Annie Park, Megan Khang and Gabby Lopez did. And when they did talk about her, they would always question whether she was a 'real' rookie. In Gee's still underrated. Third in the world and you almost never see her get hyped like the other young guns. I hope I'm wrong, I would love to see Park get the attention she deserves from the first time she hits a ball next season. And it's possible Sagstrom won't get the same love affair treatment that Henderson did; so far she seems more like a blip on the radar in comparison. Here's hoping the media do the right thing this time!

You really need to sharpen your reading skills. All I said was that she has the potential to be a world beater. Not necessarily next year; possibly not ever. That's why it's still potential and not actual. Not only is that not laughable, it's practically obvious.
