Face it....Eldrick ruled for so long based on #1 .....talent..... and the.....he was a selfish ***** and only cared about himself and golf. Ko is finished as I've said before...her lack of length and continuing Lead Poisoning is fact...Gilchrist has failed with Yani, Creamer and now Ko...call McCormick, Tina...what don't you get...oh wait..she knows nothing about golf. Putt, didn't you tell Tina to call Gilchrist before ? That's mr3putt most endearing character; he's never wrong.

mnmlistgolfr fourwaymiss There is no question that Annika, Lorena, Yani and Lydia are special; they're the best of their time over a long stretch of period. However Lydia is done, and I've been saying it for almost one year. LPGA has never had more talents than right now. Lexi has a good chance to be No. 1 with a win this week; In Gee has an outside chance. IMO, the 3 greatest achievement in golf: 1, Tiger's 6 USGA titles in a roll. 2, The Tiger Slam. 3, Lydia's back to back Canadian Open wins as an amateur. On this alone I believe she will be #1 again.

People forget Tigers run was 20-25 years long. The 6 USGA titles in a row is incredible.

But back to back, in two different courses, against major championship like field (which the Canadian Open typically has).

I agree an AM teen winning back to back CWO's on two courses is one of the greatest accomplishments in golf. It would be interesting to see some analysis on the number of players playing great and how it changes over time though. There are windows of change I presume.

What kind of roll, Ciabatta, Kaiser or Pumpernickel? I thought the Tiger Slam was the greatest achievement in sports. And Danielle Kang's holes-in-one in consecutive weeks to win two cars ranked above Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game and Nolan Ryan's seven no-hitters. Scroll down to post #24 on this WRX thread.

I told her that in person and it gave her and her mom a good chuckle.

I don't think there was ever an "Ko Era", at least not in the same manner as the "Tiger Era". During the Tiger Era, everyone else was basically playing for second. I would compare the Wunderkind to Jordan Spieth. His "Era" was ended about 1 year ago. But make no mistake, he will stick around and become #1 again, and so will Lydia. What Spieth Era? The longest Jordan's been number 1 was 20 consecutive weeks in late 2015/early 2016. Before that he was going back and forth with McIlroy and Day. Lydia was number 1 for 85 consecutive weeks and 109 weeks total! With regards to Rolex Rankings, there has been the Annika Era, the Lorena Era, the Yani Era, and the Lydia Era. There wasn't really an Inbee Era because she was going back and forth with Stacy. That's why I have the Era in quotes. It was brief but the amount of love the "golden child" got from the media was Tiger like. People talk about how much coverage Michelle or even the Canadian Princess get, but make no mistake, the true media darling of the last 3 years has been Lydia. And that's what has been grating on Happy Fan, and thus his disdain for her. the Wunderkind was taking all the attention away from the real sisters.

Actually, I don't think Ko got as much attention for what she achieved as she deserved. Henderson is the one who is over-praised. Look at the crappy year Brooke has had, and yet you will see her mentioned prominently in any article talking about possible winners this week. In the below article, she is listed as the third most important player to watch this week, ahead of Inbee Park, who only won this event 3 of the past 4 years (on three different courses). In Gee, with four runner-up finishes in 2017 and a recent Major win herself, is not mentioned at all (nor is perpetual Major machine Amy Yang). Nine Players to watch this weekAs for Ko, I have no problem with the press she receives, I was just getting tired of seeing her win all the freaking time.

Lexi is up to #2. Lydia's free fall continues. She's now #5.
