Annie Park has slid from grace...she was once ranked very high along with Alison Lee. She didn't play well at the NCAA's this year and faltered at Q school. Oh well back to USC and another try next year.

Also give credit to Cheyenne Woods, even though some of you don't like her. She did not give up after the second round seventy nine. I like golfers that keep fighting until the last hole is played. I honestly don't dislike Cheyenne. I dislike the coverage around her. I dislike how she seemed to get into tournament solely based on her last name and her blood line. She has her card now, and if she can play well, I will have absolutely no problem with her being on Tour; in fact, it's probably a good thing in the long run as she is a needle mover. Hmmmmm.....no mention of The Hulk, Mini Rocket or anyone else obtaining their cards on the GC website....only in Merica....lol. www.golfchannel.com/news/randall-mell/name-herself-cheyenne-woods-earns-lpga-card/And yes...I do like Cheyenne.

I have nothing against her (although I don't really have any interest in her, either). But I am dreading the endless amount of hype and favorable tee times/TV coverage she is going to get over the next six months. Man, Ha Na Jang sure came close to totally blowing it! That would not have been the way to become the hot story! Fortunately, she managed to control the damage and earned her card, which is all that really counts. Nice to see Minjee Lee rally to the top along with Alison Lee. I expect Minjee to be a big star sometime soon, she is a massive talent I think. Not so sure about Alison, but we'll get a chance to see I guess! Also props to Ju Young for hanging on and Sei Young Kim and Soo Bin Kim as well. I like to root for the gals who have Northwest ties (Especially Washington state), although I didn't go to school here. Yeah, I used to root for Paige the few times she ever showed up on a leaderboard! Congrats to the gals who earned conditional status, although I guess we won't be seeing them too often. Nice job SISTERS!!!

SYS That's pretty funny. Yes, Whan and the staff at Golf Channel are all drooling over Ms. Woods.

That's a tough call. I look at the players I put in my "regaining cards" category, and I don't feel good about any of them. I think Delacour could have a decent season, perhaps O'Toole, but other than that, I think they could all lose their cards. I don't know enough about the college and amateur players to say one way or another. As for the foreign players, I'm sorry, but I don't have a whole lot of hope for Ju Young Park. It would be one thing if she was dominating the Korean Tour and came over, but she wasn't really that big of a player in Korea.

Retains a 2015 card...top 80 or better: - <li>Hyo Joo
- Baek
- Minjee
- Sei Young Kim
- Ariya
- C. Hull
- S. Meadows
- Alison Lee
[/ul] This will put a lot of pressure for those LPGA pros who normally just squeak by.....year in year out. If Hyo Joo would only concentrate on the LPGA....I think she'd be ROY...but because she doesn't plan to do so....I think it will be a really close ROY race....maybe even a 'surprise' winner.

She contended at the Hana Bank a few years ago, for instance. She has two advantages that I can see: one, having her sister on tour will help with the acclimation. And two, she is one of the longest bombers on the KLPGA (just behind Ha Na Jang on the year end driving distance list), and the LPGA definitely rewards long hitting more than the KLPGA does. I don't expect her to be a big name, but I think she'll manage to show up on a few leaderboards next year and will keep her card.

As much as I'd luv to see a Mini Rocket on the LPGA for a long time.....I'm unfortunately not feeling it. HYP plays many events....so It will be great to have sister along.
In fact.....now that Ju Young will be tagging along with HYP.....I think HYP will be so happy it may slightly elevate her game.

Happy Fan took the words out of my mouth about Ju Young, chances to make it on the LPGA. I also think that the LPGA courses are a better fit for Ju Young than the KLPGA courses. A majority of the courses that the LPGA plays is a lot more forgiving than the KLPGA courses. I also think it will help Sei Young's game. The others "Sister" I believe can perform great anywhere.
Anyway what a great (Rookie Class)

Anyway what a great (Rookie Class) Exactly. Mirim Lee definitely elevated her game when she got to the LPGA. So did Il Hee Lee, who was little known on the KLPGA but has been a solid golfer on the LPGA. Ju Young won't win any short game battles, but on courses where your driving distance is all-important (which seemed like about half the tournaments last year) I like her chances to finish well. She was literally in a dead heat with Jang in driving distance, just .02 yards behind her! I also agree that having her on tour should do wonders for Hee Young's game. Will be fun to see! Sei Young Kim, by the way, was the longest driver on the KLPGA last year. Jang was third, Park fourth, Jung Min Lee fifth (second place was little known Sang Hee Han).

Your argument of "her game will be better suited in the LPGA Tour" loses a lot of its weight when you say she was behind Ha Na Jang and Sei Young Kim in driving distance, and they were both big time winners on the KLPGA. Yes, driving distance is an advantage on the LPGA Tour, but let's not act like bombing it is what wins on this Tour. In the top 5 on Tour this year in driving distance were Joanna Klatten and Carlota Ciganda. Those certainly are not the years I want to emulate next season.

Yes, driving distance is an advantage on the LPGA Tour, but let's not act like bombing it is what wins on this Tour. In the top 5 on Tour this year in driving distance were Joanna Klatten and Carlota Ciganda. Those certainly are not the years I want to emulate next season. How does it lose weight? I never said that long hitting was a handicap in Korea, just that it isn't as important there as here. There seem to be a lot of courses in Korea where all around games are more important than distance. Jang and Kim are all-around talents as well as bombers, hence their success over there and probable success here. Sang Hee Han is not a big talent, and that's why you've never heard of her despite being 2nd in driving distance. And I never said I thought Ju Young would be a big star here, just that I thought she'd keep her card and contend a few times; she is a decent all around player, but not in the league of Jang and Kim in those departments. Also, I never say that 'long hitting is ALL you need to win' on many LPGA courses, just that the starting line towards the win is advanced quite a bit if you are a long hitter. So, the fact that there are long hitters who muff it even with that head start is immaterial to my comments! There were so many LPGA events, especially early this year, where the descriptions for the courses were hauntingly similar: no rough, wide fairways. The Nabisco and US Women's Open were especially bad for that this year. The long hitters were able to hit driver without consequence time and again; the short hitters were hitting four clubs more into greens that wouldn't hold (especially at Pinehurst) while the bombers had shorter irons that often would. Law of averages says that the long hitter will have many more birdie chances and easier putts in the long run, and if she can hit driver every time, that advantage becomes even greater. If she can make even a decent amount of putts, the short hitter is just out of luck. I hope there are NO Majors this year with negligible rough!
