I think In Gee has been taking it easy. She knows the stretch of golf she wants includes the USOpen and Olympics.
She's about to kick it into high gear mentally.
Super glad she made the field in Chicago.

When I watched IGC at Nabisco, her putting and chipping was superb. I wonder how it could have gone so wrong? My only criticism with her game was, how can someone who is so big, hit such average distance drives? It was like watching Nick Faldo all over again. By the way..... Ariya hitting her 2 iron 250 yards is sick. I'm not sure many of the men can do that. 99% of male weekend hackers couldn't hit a 2 iron 250 yds...but 75%-85% of the PGA tour pros could. I suspect Ariya's clubhead speed at close to 110 mph.....Lexi at around 106 mph. |

The KLPGA & JLPGA pros put the LPGA pros to shame in the fashion dept.... even the Koreans who make it to the LPGA lose their style
No generalities, please. Mi Hyang, who had no use for the KLPGA from Day One, wears a genuine Asian brand (MU Sports) and it suits her well. She is 0% fake and 100% OEM (I think). MHL IS THE BEST!!!
Speaking of fashion, that was a really nice outfit Lydia wore on Sunday. She needs to burn those "Big C" sweaters.
OK....MHL dresses cute, SYR is generally good.....Jenny Shin dresses well. MHL was in a pretty good mood on Wed....acting a bit goofy and walking like a duck to the putting green. Ya, those big C sweaters were pathetic....but Lydia is not a clothes horse...look at Tina.....Tina is a fake too....most Korean women pride themselves on appearance....you'll often see Tina with grey hair and a lousy T-shirt. Kwak's mom had a sparkly LPGA purse. I think GIMMEE has the best looking Korean mom......HYP mom's maybe 2nd. Dumbo's mom = meh. I don't think Ha Na's mom was there...or I couldn't figure it out....there was a big Sumo guy in Ha Na's entourage along with another guy and dad.....they all had BC Card umbrellas......Dumbo's mom had a Hite umbrella to keep the Good Doctor dry. |

How could the Golf Gods screw with my happiness in the maximal way? What if Ko, Henderson and Jutanugarn ended up 1-2-3? No, they couldn't be that cruel; especially in the only event this century in my home town! Damn golf gods.  Seriously, though, congrats to Henderson. I might not like her, but I can't deny she played well all week (I like her even less now; she not only took away Inbee's title, she also knocked Inbee out of the #2 ranking in the world. What a terrible week the Sisters are having!). Yeah, she got a major break with that ace and that chip in, but she deserved the win, somehow catching Ko when she was on a roll. I may just not be watching a lot of tournaments before then. PS 2: In Gee posted this on twitter. It sounds like she's a little peeved by her performance and is letting everyone know she will be back! ! Why do the above comments not surprise me....LMAO. I told everyone Dumbo was goofing around....how could she not be prepped for a major. |

Agreed.  Such a cool outfit. Night and day over the mess she wore Saturday. May be the best look she's ever had. Arg the LPGA needs to hire you as a consultant. And if Whan says, "who are you?" You can counter with, "excuse me sir but have you missed the wrx fashion thread?"  And he would say, "is that one with Soo Jin! You're hired!" |

Dumbo needs a couple of weeks off. She is playing Michigan, so the Chuns must still owe money on the family restaurant.
I have a feeling we won't be seeing much more of Dr. Won Park. She needs a real teacher. The ability to hit nice looking shots at a big city driving range isn't enough.

OK boys and girls...now onto a REAL major at Oakmont.....Meijer will get NO attention. Oakmont will identify the best player in the world. Remember when Paula, absolutely humiliated the rest of the field? That was back when Korea thought NYC was the anointed one and Suzann was a surefire hall of famer. Who knows, in five years, Lydia may be asking Angela Park if her hotel needs a night auditor. |

Yeah, The Rocket looked great, although blue trim in the shoes would have been preferably. Yeah, I know what you're saying, "What shoes?"  Yup...the Rocket looked GREAT. Yes.....white and blue/black saddle FJ's would have been ideal......considering she can have all the FJ's she wants from Ann Cain. But it must be so cumbersome to haul many shoes and clothes when you're on the road for several weeks. Luv the Rocket!! |

Ok, I'll admit to a bitter taste in my mouth. Not just Ariya, but of all the players grouped together mid round, Brooke was my least favorite to win. I don't dislike her, she was just my last pick among those in contention. When Lydia missed the putt on 17, I knew it was over. Didn't even bother to watch the playoff.
But ultimately I cannot complain. The Golf Gods have been good to me lately. So onward!

Man....Ko knows how to s*ck up to all her peers...Bam was luvin her today and ignoring fellow Yank Gerina. If Lydia won..The Dragon Lady should have bought Bam a new boat....but unlikely...Tina likes her money....Lydia had a Twitter contest for a signed ball...oh boy...lol. Anyone want to offer me $5 for the autographed ProV1 from the 2012 CWO?  Lol. What do you think The Dragon Lady put in those pieces of fruit? Tina is a drill Sargent....she makes sure Lydia doesn't eat any junk food....I think I saw an interview where Lydia says she seldom eats junk food...likely dictated to her. In 2012 Lydia, Mom and a friend were eating cherry tomatoes, gimbap and watermelon. Dumbo was also asking vols if the wanted her fruit too....I think she had cocktail swords to hand out too. Dumbo wants to be well liked on tour like Lydia....doing whatever it takes to make everyone like her. |

So great that there was a lawn mower going in the background yesterday. Just when everything is going PERFECT, for once, someone starts mowing their lawn and the microphones can't avoid it.
There was an event last year where a guy was mowing right by the tee box.

I don't agree whatsoever with the notion that this is Ariya's league. I saw her play in person; I have rarely seen so many sloppy shots by a top rank player. For now her flat stick is hot and she's been able to recover from her many mistakes, but that sort of thing comes in waves, and if she has to start depending on her accuracy and putter I think she will fall back to Earth a lot. I've said it before....I think if Ariya was trained in a superior golf academy in the US as a kid....she might be a dominator. They would have tightened her swing and gave her more strategic course management tactics. I think Ariya is in her own world and maybe doesn't like to be over coached. Her wild swing leads to some of her loose shots. But she does have some nice feel in scrambling and her putting seems good when not under stress. Watch out if she ever figures out how to control a driver...especially on the bomb and gouge courses. It's her length that gives her so much advantage....I suspect her SS is close to 110 mph...that like a guy playing on tour....e.g.) The Serena Williams advantage. As much as we might think Ariya could toy around in some PGA tour events...we need to remember that the PGA tour courses are set up so much more difficult than the LPGA courses. Lexi too....but Lexi doesn't take advantage of the par 5's like she should...and we all know that Lexi's chipping and putting can be very suspect at times...when it's on she wins. SHP has length....but it's only a matter of time until we see a BEAST emerge from Korea to demolish the gals on the LPGA. |
