Golf Channel's Abbott is now also saying "Sung Hyun" the right way. Good on them for coming around. To be fair Koreans aren't helpful with their inconsistent romanization. If she went by 'Seong Hyeon' there'd have been no problem. I was wrong. Presently listening to them butcher "Jeong Eun". You know what, I think we should just throw these romanization rules out the window and go by feel. What I mean is that certain spellings just work and others don't. For instance Jeong Eun might've translated better as "Jung Eun" for whatever reason. Western people are not likely to mispronounce Jung as "Joong", in the same way that nobody ever thinks to say "Soong Hyoon". That is to say the "Sung" works but the "Hyun", while having the same vowel, does not. Somehow Ingee Chun is never mistaken for "Choon". But we know now that Hyun looks like "Hyoon" to most westerners. Therefore the best spelling would've been: "Sung Hyeon". QED. Funny that these things need to be idiot proofed against so-called professional broadcasters. This ineptitude seems limited to golf. The best player in basketball right now is Giannis Antetokoumpo, a tough name but somehow they've all adapted. It's not hard at all, you just have to care I suppose.

Ugh. Can So Yeon's season get any worse? She bogied 18 to finish at +5, two shot off from the projected cut. A par would have likely been good enough. She only managed 50% of the fairways in two rounds, and 52% of the greens. Her ballstriking is completely off.

I have a vacation day and have been having a great time watching the coverage this morning. Inky is on FIRE! I don't want to get ahead of myself, but if somehow she gets into a position to win this Sunday, it's going to be intense. GO INKY! Lucky Six played well, but that last hole was a really sloppy three putt. Other than that, though, she's nicely positioned. Shot of the year so far might be that incredible iron Sung Hyun Park hit from behind a tree to fifteen feet. I was waiting for her to punch it out (you couldn't see her at all, just the tree), then the camera finds the ball as it dropped onto the green and stopped. How on EARTH did she do that? Sisters Hwaiting!!

Jin Young Ko is on a real heater. Or she's really really good.

Jin Young Ko is on a real heater. Or she's really really good. No argument here. Probably the best all-around ballstriker in the world.

Oh well, 73 is not what I was looking for, but as of this moment there are 20 players under par and MHL is one of them. Her year-to-date play in 2019 is much better than the same period last year.

Pernilla is gagging her way right out of this tournament ... made four bogeys in the last five holes and needs an eagle at the par-5 9th to make the cut.
Jing Yan, another player with vacant rental space...but that could change soon the way she's playing this week.

I didn't know GC did a broadcast of the Wed. Pro-Am (below) ... they followed Sandra Gal, Georgia Hall and Marina Alex. Each player had a chance to analyze their swings and Marina (starting at 31:30) was brutally honest on what she could do and not do...I learned stuff about her game I didn't know before. Wouldn't it be nice if every event had its pro-am broadcast in such a way?

I watched So Yeon on eighteen. She drove it right as she has been doing lately. Her ball ended close to a big tree where she did not have a swing. Except to hit it left handed or pick the club straight up to hit it. She did a good job of hitting the ball about sixty yards. Still had a tough lie so she laid up and reached the green in four shots. Hit her fourth shot within fifteen feet but missed the par putt.
