I basically agree with the NY Times article. Especially: And this: Augusta National trying to portray themselves as progressive supporters of women' golf is laughable, and it annoys me how quickly the GIC has accepted it as gospel fact. Whatever, I'm personally just ignoring the tournament and focusing on the ANA. I'm watching on Saturday at Augusta for sure. But it's not Lydia Ko vs Jin Young Ko vs Nelly, as it could be. There are a ton of Augusta toadies in the media.

Rachel Heck spoke really eloquently on last night's GC pro-am show about why she chose the ANA over the ANWA. I'll be rooting for her and Albane Valenzuela to do well at the ANA.
The goal is to play in majors alongside the LPGA's best. It's a no-brainer.

I always enjoy the way Golf Channel covers ANA.

I always enjoy the way Golf Channel covers ANA. GC has their A Team crew on this one. Except for Tirico, ANWA got the B Team.

The broadcasters just said "Indio" ... have a drink!

From Wednesday...yeah, I'd rather watch the pros instead of the ams this week.

This doesn't belong here, but since it was brought up on this post, my thoughts. Martha Burkes had to start a protest in 2003 to get the Augusta National to admit Women members. She said today "out of three hundred members, there is only four women members. Her quotes not mine in an LA Times article. "They tokenized the women. "It not by a long shot any kind of open system down there at all, in some ways, a joke." "I think it remains to be seen if this Amateur Women Tournament that they are touting is gonna be anything but a PR stunt." "I don't think they care very much about opening golf to women." They care more about their own image, I am not impressed."
Again I apologize for this out of place post, but I feel the same way that she does about it. Promise that all my future posts will be about the ANA.

Golf Channel's Abbott is now also saying "Sung Hyun" the right way. Good on them for coming around. To be fair Koreans aren't helpful with their inconsistent romanization. If she went by 'Seong Hyeon' there'd have been no problem.
