How cool is this? Longtime Titleist/Japan staffer Erika Kikuchi had a visit from Bob Vokey, who is on a promo tour for the new Titleist Vokey Forged wedge...I think this is another non-USA product, similar to the Titleist VG3 stuff.
**************
Team PRGR - Asako Fujimoto, Erina Hara and Rie Tsuji
Rikako Morita is not in the field...she's still on the PRGR site as a staffer, but she might be finished as a touring pro.

Hiromi Kobayashi the chairman of jlpga is a 10 time international pro winner, 9 times on the jlpga and she won the Evian i think in 1996. the lady sitting between mamiko higa and the chairman is Mayumi Hirase, she is a 18 time international pro winner; 14 times on the jlpga and 4 times on the US Lpga. I was surprised to see that mika miyazato does not have any wins on the jlpga. i believe she has one win on the US Lpga. if you want to be impressed look up the career stats for world hall of famer ayako okamoto, very impressive. http://instagr.am/p/BuyN49glVLv

Whoa, turn in your membership card! Mika won the 2010 and 2013 Japan Women Open's. It's quite lame that those wins are not counted under her profile at the JLPGA website. Is it because she was not a JLPGA member back then, or because the Japan Golf Association operated the JWO? For some reason, I thought she won in Japan before turning pro, but I think I'm wrong about that...although she had a superb amateur career.
Cheeseburger Chad was looping for all three pro wins...he's had a knack for getting really good Asian bags over the last 10-12 years...was with MHL for over a year until he got dumped or quit in 2018...don't know if he will resurface in 2019.

phil - thanks for the correction, i was going by jlpga website info...
the one item about ayako okamoto that struck me was she started sports as a lefthanded softball pitcher, i believe with some success as a softball player. she started golf at age 22yrs and hit the ball from the right side... and the rest is history.

Why is it so hard for me to find the JLPGA final field list. I have no trouble finding everything else but that.

On the home page, to the upper right, there is the current tournament. Several categories are listed. The 4th to the right is "Pairing" which will show you the field. You might try www.lpga.or.jp/tournament/pairing/20192080/1Is this what you're looking for?

The player profiles on the JLPGA website have a lot of stuff I never knew or looked at before. As a sample, here's Shiho Oyama (per Google Mush)...not 100% current since she has no club contract in 2019...really surprised she has only one ace in her long career.

I had high hopes for Kotone Hori after she shot even par second round last tournament. But she is already +4 through nine holes.
At least her sister, Natsuka Hori was minus one through *18.
