Both Diamond Resorts and Insurance Office of America are private companies and are based in Las Vegas.
This tournament is a bit like Coates and those Chinese tournaments with questionable sponsors; they all unceremoniously disappeared after a short stint. Hope I'm wrong.

Are Koreans scared of the format? The format intrigues me. Two LPGA players paired with two celebrities for 72 holes, no cut. It’s stroke play for the pros and a Modified Stableford format for the celebs, and there are two purses. LPGA’s 2019 Diamond Resort Tournament of Champions

I don't think So Yeon or Inbee would be concerned about any format changes; they still have until January 11 to confirm.

My bet is the charms of LPGA players will make it a better experience than PGA Tour's ATT Pebble Beach Pro-Am; especially the Korean players

I hope that So Yeon skip the tournament and prepare for the real golf. She needs to focus on trying to get back to number one. Also concentrate on trying to win Majors. Time is running out for her to make the LPGA HOF, because she may not play long enough. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsDyrdKHDDl

I don't follow you at all...this is a real tournament. They'll give out HOF points to the winner, just like they did when Pak and C. Kim won the old Tournament of Champions 14-17 years ago in Alabama. Yes, it is a pain in the neck for the Asians, Aussies and Kiwis to fly halfway around the world for one event, but suck it up, you'll have a guaranteed paycheck that'll cover your costs by plenty. Any qualified player who skips this one should be privately and publicly raked over the coals.

In addition, it's a new event, filling an important void on the LPGA schedule. The champion players should support it to ensure its viability.
Act like a Founder.

philknj I can't agree with you more. If So Yeon wants to qualify for Hall of Fame; she needs to win at least 15 more tournaments including a few majors. She can't miss any chances to win. This tournament has less than 40 players, statistically every player has the best chance to win; So Yeon knows that. She also would have no reasons to skip if her goal is No. 1; the winner will get close to 40.0 Rolex points even though it's a small field with no cut. In most cases, there aren't extra travels; Koreans (In Gee for sure) usually come to the States early January to train before they head to Thailand for Honda LPGA. Minjee Lee is the only player who's a legitimate reason to skip because she's in the middle of summer. My only real concern is the format; some players simply don't appreciate the circus atmosphere the tournament promotes.

HappyFanShould we welcome mr3putt back for the New Year? Our forum could use more participants and more colors. We may rekindle mnmlistgolfr to be active again once mr3putt is back.
