HappyFan is the only winner; Jin Young Ko will maintain her sizable lead for Rolex Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year award.

Hey, there's some others of us that like JinYoung. . . What about Lucky 6. . .did her 6th place finish qualify her for LPGA membership? If it does, then we're all winners, especially the LPGA. . . It looks like JinYoung will drop to 6th in the CME rankings. . . not fatal but a whole lot easier to win the million if in the top five... And The Annika Winner is . . .

I was able to wake up this morning only to catch the final group play 18. Amy Olson made a mess of this hole, huh? I was predicting her to miss her bogey putt but to come up short? Sheesh! I was predicting and hoping Sei Young would make her birdie putt but alas. Big surprise for the old lady Angela Stanford. Congratulations! She got the Hilary Lunke monkey off her back. So Yeon Ryu and Brooke Henderson experienced the same tournament.

I don't really ride for Stanford but we'll never find a more appreciative winner.

In Gee finished at -1 for the day and -6 for the tournament, same results as Chella and Jtibs. Each has one win as a member. None have won in the past two years.
Any of those three could still win another tournament if everything lines up perfectly for them.

So Yeon had a good back nine to four birdies and one bogey for a top ten. She just never give up until the last putt is made.
Ditto: Jin Young started with bogeys on the first two holes. But had five birdies and no bogeys after that , with four birdies coming on the back nine. She needs to rethink how she warms up. That's the second time that she had a slow start like that this tournament. Still a good round.

Lucky 6 is still about $200,000 away from securing a Top 40 equivalent non-member earning. A solo 2nd at LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship is worth $186,000; it may not be enough.

History is littered with near misses; and truth are, she may never have another chance.
Jean van de Velde blew up at final hole at 1999 Carnoustie; van de Velde never had another chance.

Anyone else put off when Stanford could only sob like a baby when Tom Abbott put the mic in front of her? Go ahead, call me a meanie, I don't care. Get a grip girl, this was your 6th LPGA win...it's not like you were ever in danger of losing your card and going back to q-school if you didn't win. I wanted to hear you TALK...say something about your swing or swing coach or equipment or your mental coach, etc...give me some golf reasons why you won. Did she ever get around it? Because I was watching on my PC and then shut it off, I couldn't take her bawling anymore.
The other big story is Amy Olson needing (and not getting) a Heimlich Maneuver before each of her swings at the par-4 18th...at total gag job. That is a great finishing hole for a Major (or any other tournament). I'm really disappointed that the Evian Horndog-in-Chief is talking about making it a par-5 again. He knows nothing about golf, but the LPGA loves him because he spends money like a drunken sailor.
France is a really weird place for golf...did they show this on TV? Stanford getting the trophy from Jean-Claude Killy?!
Did Team Horndog give Angela the bookend wet ones, as is customary for the winner?
Lucky 6 captured the parachute guy.

A fairly hilarious review of the Evian TV coverage by Martin Kaufman at Golfweek: golfweek.com/2018/09/16/evian-still-searching-for-that-major-championship-vibe/ON THE TOURNAMENT: It looks less like a major championship than something you might see on a Saturday morning at your local muni. ON STUPPLES: Stupples referred to swing changes that Amy Olson has made the past two years with her swing coach. The natural question is: What are those changes? Stupples didn’t go to that next level and tell us... If Stupples had taken 30 seconds to share a couple of details about Olson’s swing changes and their impact on her game, that would have been great information. But we didn’t get that. ON JUDY: After Stanford hit two terrible shots on her way to a double bogey at No. 16, Rankin said: “This is, like, unbelievable to play this little hole this way.” Admittedly, I found it kind of cute that Rankin sounded a bit like a valley girl. But as I’ve been counseled repeatedly, it’s not “unbelievable” because, well, we just saw it happen. ON TOM: The normally cheerful Tom Abbott was a bit peeved early in Sunday’s coverage, and I have to say, it was with good reason.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BnzL6u0lWwN Okay, I’ll call you a meanie. I really empathize with Angela - she had the microphone shoved in her face about 2 seconds after she won. I think it’s waaaay more emotional for a player who has been grinding away on tour for so many years, probably with ever decreasing belief in her chances to win a major, than for a player just starting out. But most likely the main reason for all the emotion was her mother’s recent health issues- and the realization that she got to see the major win.
