Last International Crown Teresa Lu made putts from all over the place to beat In Gee. While In Gee couldn't get any thing to drop. Maybe In Gee can turn the table on her if they play each other this year.
Wonder how the Japanese came to the decision to use Ayako. . . nothing against her, but using the July 2 cutoff date, Momoko was definitely higher in the rankings. . .using current rankings, the young Sakura is also ranked higher. . .I personally would have preferred either of those two. . .Ayako has had her moments this year, maybe she can duplicate some of those. . .
Speaking of Ai, I noticed last week that she had both of her wrists wrapped. . .kinda makes you think she wasn't fully recovered. . .

Maybe Momoko was asked and turned them down. I would sure have liked to see her play in the tournament. I followed her a few times when she was playing the LPGA tour. What a really pleasant person she is from what I could see.

Momoko is in the field of the Stanley Ladies Golf Tournament next week. Between her and Ayako are Haru Nomura, Fumika Kawagishi and Erika Kikuchi. Wading through the Google mush translation of the field I can only confirm that Erika is playing there next week as well.

Replacements are based on July 2 2018 ranking; there were at least 5-6 JLPGA players who were ahead of Uehara in ranking. I'm sure those players are already committed to play JLPGA next week.
UL International Crown is a LPGA event; no reasons to expect royalty or respect from JLPGA players.
Not all team events are like Ryder Cup, it attracts biggest stars and is big enough to preempt both PGA and European Tours. Not too long ago, many players turned down opportunities to play 2016 Olympics.
Kenda staffer Candie Kung showed up in Taiwan playing the Kenda Tire TLPGA Ladies Open (9/26-9/28)...and shot 76 in Round One. Per Google mush, she went to the hospital afterward with elbow, neck and foot problems (she injured her elbow two months ago). She showed up early for Round Two and decided to WD as a precaution with the UL Crown next week.
