Dumbo played us like a fiddle...she's not that injured. I think she reads this forum and believes in reverse karma too...she says she doesn't care if she makes the Olympic team and that others are more deserving....LMAO. This lying and scheming makes me LIKE Dumbo even more.

If Jutanugarn takes care of herself she will have 65 years to forget about this. You really are a dbag aren't you? First you make SayYouSeRi quit.....now you might drive BKB away. I thought Ariya was gonna prove The Smiling Buddha wrong.....but once she found out she could win this on the 17th tee...her brain got in the way. I can't believe she snip hooked her drive on 18. BKB...I hope you are OK tonight and not drinking too many Singha beers and you don't go into seclusion for 8 months...don't worry...Porna will win soon.

Lydia Ko is a god. The way she kept making par save after par save from long range was jaw-dropping. And to close out 18 like that! Ariya Jutanugarn is painfully human. I can't believe she hit her tee shot on the last in the water to prevent her from having a chance at her maiden victory. Goddess

I want to see the US Open. Dumbo seems super confident in California. So does Lydia.

Round 4
Congratulations to Lydia Ko on her win, but man, this feels like one that got away for In Gee Chun. Ko was not hitting a lot of great shots, getting herself into all sorts of jams, and when she had par saves to make, they were longer and trickier than many of In Gee's. Yet somehow, everything she needed to fall did. Still, she was giving the rest of the field a big opening.
Alas, In Gee's long game was also fairly off today. She missed a few crucial fairways, and almost never seemed to hit her irons close enough to give herself easy birdies. In a way, you could say her failing to win this trophy was the final victim of luggage-gate. It would have been a much better story than Ko's umpteenth win: In Gee injured, fights back, wins Major on her return. But the fact that she could not adequately practice her long game before this week probably led to her downfall.
On the other hand, In Gee's short game was incredible. How many clutch par saves did she make on the way? She managed to hang in there near the top without even a single ultra long birdie putt like Ko, Jutanugarn and Hull made.
In the end, she also had two bad breaks from the golf gods: that unfortunate lie on 16 that she couldn't recover from, and that ridiculous bounce on 18 that nearly went into the water (thank goodness they spared her that!). I honestly didn't think it was possible for someone to go for the green in two on 18 and end up in danger long. Give her credit that she went for the eagle, probably expecting Ko to make birdie, but the ball went in about the only place where that was just not gonna be possible. Great up and down from there, though.
All in all, a great week for Dumbo. Third top three this year, is probably back on the Olympic team, reestablishes herself as the top rookie. Get 'em all next time, In Gee!!!
( Oh, and what she said about the Olympics was not that other Korean players were better than she and thus deserved to be on the team more, but that they had done more for Korean golf by being great longer (ie, were more veteran). She was just being a good Korean by deferring to her onnis. )
Inbee made it interesting early. I was really hoping she would get to 12 under, which as it turns out is what she needed. Couldn't pull it off, but a nice start to her Major campaign.
I'll admit that I was expecting Jutanugarn to melt down on 18 pretty much all day, and thus was totally unsurprised when it actually happened. I just wish it would have been In Gee sitting at 12 under when it happened and not Ko.
Great to see Ryu get a top ten this week, and nice weeks for Sung Hyun Park and Bo Mee Lee. I was a bit surprised that Ha Na Jang didn't do better. And dig MJ Hur with a t-14th, her best Major in some time.
Sisters Hwaiting!
PS - Golf Channel was particularly annoying in omitting a bunch of Chun's shots, even when she was tied for the lead. When Wie finally started to fade too far, I thought they'd start showing her more, but that was the exact moment Hull made her run, so no. There must have been at least three holes where we didn't see her drive but saw Ko's. And I'm not buying that she and Ko were the same length off the tee... In Gee seemed always ten - fifteen yards farther down the fairway.
PPS - Top search term in Korea? In Gee Chun. Second, ANA Inspiration. Ko is 6th, Sung Hyun Park 10th.

Other than golf, In Gee is really great at one other important thing - making money.
In three starts she is already No. 3 on money list, if we include her unofficial money from Thailand.
I'm glad both Lydia and Brooke play well and continue to improve; they're worthy opponents and they should keep In Gee challenged and motivated.

We won't see In Gee this week, fortunately there is a little tournament "The Masters" to pass the time.

Charley Hull finally moved to RR #25. In Gee, Lydia and Brooke will be the class of LPGA in less than a year but Charley is also knocking on the door.

In Gee, Lydia, Brooke and Charley. Someone from each part of the major golfing world has a charismatic young star to cheer for. Of course there are many more to choose from for golf fans.

I hope USWO raise their prize money to $6.0 million with winner's share of $1.08 million. I remember $6.0 million was a big milestone for PGA. After that, it continued to increase until now.
USGA raised prize from $3.5 million to $4.5 million last year due to their new TV contract with Fox. They certainly can afford to raise it again in order to stimulate overall LPGA prize trend.
Women's PGA will raise their funds to keep up with the Joneses; and Women's British, Evian and so forth.
The $1.3 million tournaments don't belong in this day and age.

I would like to say something about Ariya. I watched her through her amateur days. One thing, not sure what kind of training she had in Thailand. She did not go to some big time golf academy. Nor did she have nearly the support that Lydia had.
From what I saw her sister were her main support. She is still very young, and I expect her to get better. So you can dump on her if that make your day. I for one congratulate her for a good tournament.

Round 4
1) Congratulations to Lydia Ko on her win, but man, this feels like one that got away for In Gee Chun. Ko was not hitting a lot of great shots, getting herself into all sorts of jams, and when she had par saves to make, they were longer and trickier than many of In Gee's. Yet somehow, everything she needed to fall did.
2) Alas, In Gee's long game was also fairly off today. Give her credit that she went for the eagle, probably expecting Ko to make birdie, but the ball went in about the only place where that was just not gonna be possible. 4) I'll admit that I was expecting Jutanugarn to melt down on 18 pretty much all day, and thus was totally unsurprised when it actually happened. I just wish it would have been In Gee sitting at 12 under when it happened and not Ko. 5) Minjee Lee
Happy Again you demonstrate your great humor and sarcasm when a 'real' Korean doesn't win. 1) Both Ko & Dumbo played very good and clutch fake major type golf...though maybe a bit conservative at times because a lot of their approach shots were not particularly close to the pins....if anything..... it was Dumbo who may have had a slight worse ball striking rd vs. Ko.....Ko 27 putts....12/18 GIR and Dumbo 26 putts....11/18 GIR. The only real difference to a another outcome was that Dumbo didn't get up and down at 16 and Ko had a brilliant up and down with a much tougher shot on 17 from a downhill lie needing to hit a super flop to a slick green to a short sided pin. 2) Seriously....you think Dumbo's return to golf would have been a bigger story than another golfer (male or female) winning two majors since Young Tom Morris did it 147 years ago???....uh...OK.....lol I don't think I saw you moaning when WinBee was winning her umpteenth/many LPGA wins and majors...lol. 3) If anything...Dumbo got a lucky break from The Golf Gods on 18...she fanned her approach and that bank should have been mowed and then the ball would have tumbled into the water...punishing a not ideally executed shot. 4) Really???...so you were hoping Ariya would gagged it on 18 even before she and others teed off?....lol.....BKB will surely not return to this forum....lol. OK....ya I know I do my ABC & ABS....but really....how many people really want Kerr and Lewis to win...we might as all root for Bubba too. 5) I don't no why you don't care for the Kiwi 'fake' Korean....Lydia was even born in S. Korea....but you like Minjee (who doesn't?) yet this fake Korean was not even born in S. Korea.....and you seem to like Grace Park and Jenny Shin....who are.....IMO....are fake Koreans....I think they are more Yank than Korean. Hmmmm...maybe I know why...you don't like Tina because she reminds you of your MIL?

So how many majors for a Lydia Slam anyway? 4 or 5? The whole 5th major thing screwed up everything. LPGA golfers today can't chase history.

Charley Hull finally moved to RR #25. In Gee, Lydia and Brooke will be the class of LPGA in less than a year but Charley is also knocking on the door. Hmmm....how soon we forget about Winbee...unless she announces she's pregnant at the next fake major. IMO...the thing that will hold Charley back is that I don't think she's as hungry to be superior vs. Lydia & Brooke....though Tina and Dave H may burn out both...while Dave Hull encourages Charley to enjoy her youth. Although Lexi has the passion....unless she can over come the mental block which is not easy...her putting will hold her back...she's been on tour for a while and we have yet to see significant improvement in this part of her game. Hmmm...I assume you've given up on your past fav...Korda.
