Sung Hyun When a top 5, but especially top 2 and one of the most popular players from the KLPGA is a guest at an LPGA tourney you'd think they would have profiles all queued up ready to go. We went through the same with with In Gee Chun this year too. So silly.

None of the players I've seen on tour ever hit a full swing downhill flop shot like the new girl. In Rancho Mirage I'll tell her she doesn't need makeup.

Round 3 None of my favorites were particularly great today, but there were highlights. How weird is it that the LPGA never had an albatross on a par four in history, yet has had two in the past couple of months? I'm trying to figure out how long the hole actually was. They said 275, but NYC took a fairway wood off the tee and nearly made it, and she isn't hitting that club anywhere near 275. Still, a great moment for Minjee, although I doubt she bowed and kissed the green like Ha Na did. Jenny Shin had some sweet stuff today, especially that nifty little bunker shot on the one hole where a previous caddy had done a poor raking job. I like her being in the second to last group rather than being paired with Lydia again. Inbee was not playing that well, especially on the green, but she still hit some great shots, and managed a third straight round in the 60s. She might still win this, but even if she doesn't, I hope she notches another good round tomorrow and goes into the ANA with some confidence. Sung Hyun Park had an epic run on the back nine. I liked the way she made birdie on 18; she wasn't going to let the double on 17 ruin her good day. And that was an all-world flopperoo on the super short par 4. It will be fun to see if she can tighten the screws on Ko tomorrow. Working on 'Most Popular sponsor's invite on the LPGA' award: Not a great day for Hyo Joo, but a top ten will help her Olympic cause if she can get it. Go Sisters!!!! MJ Hur Se Ri

I got right next to the tee marker and opened up a golf gps app on my smart phone. I had 275 to the middle and 250 to the front of the green, but probably played 20 yards shorter because of the elevation change from tee to green.

Lots of fanboys there....fourwaymiss, BraveDave, Vern, SayYouSeRi....too bad fanofseri didn't drive a nicer car so he could attend....no way would Kia allow his sh*tbox Fusion into the shuttle parking lot.

I think Tina is going to play a little gamesmanship today and get Lydia to play slow so her group gets put on the clock and this will throw off SHP. But then again...The Golf Gods catch onto this kind of stuff and this might backfire on her.

I should probably rent a car for ANA. I want to have a hat made up like SYSR but I want it to say Fake Koreans Rule.

Lexi; +1 after 7 and E overall, tie 53. She tied for 19th in Singapore after winning in Thailand.
Lexi became a LPGA member in 2012, now more than 4 years. There have been litany of work to suggest that she will probably never challenge Lydia and Seoul Sisters for the top LPGA rung.
She will shine from time to time, but her short games and putting will continue to be her limitation.
She reminds of Dustin Johnson. Dustin has a better short game than Lexi, but Lexi excels in mental fortitude.

Round 4 Congrats to Ko on her win; she wasn't really that great until the very end, but she didn't have to be. I never really bought into the idea that anyone was going to beat her today (hey, I can dream), but it's weird how I knew, as soon as they said she had made no birdies all week on the last three holes, that she was going to birdie out, which she did. Inbee did make it interesting for me, although I knew if she were going to beat Ko she was going to have to shoot lower than she did (I was figuring 64, but even that wouldn't have been enough as it turned out). Still, a 67 considering how she has been playing was pretty nifty, she did seem like she had a shot at one point, and she had some swell putts and other shots in there. Still not at her best, but not bad, and I'll take a second going into the Major over what she had been doing before! Sung Hyun Park did not have her A Game, but she still managed to throw some impressive stuff out there. I knew it was over for her after she lost three shots to Ko on the first hole, but she mixed the dross in with some great stuff as well. Jenny Shin just wasn't making enough putts to be a factor, but otherwise, it was a good week for her. And a nice t-6th for Hyo Joo. But especially nice to see MJ Hur finish t-12th. I hope she can recapture her 2014 form again! Who, did Lang cost herself a lot of money on 18! Nice little F-Bomb in there as well. Does the LPGA actually fine players for that sort of thing? I don't blame her; if I hit it into the water twice I'd be a good deal less pleasant. Moving on from the Korean swing to the Japanese tournament before another Korean event (sponsors, anyway ). Hwaiting! Lydia Minjee Lee Great pairing NYC Sung Hyun Park

Somebody needs to step up and give Lydia a run for her money. We may need a healthy In Gee or a guilt-free Ha Na, to do the job.
Sung Hyun Park has an incredible swing and long off the tee; but there are reasons she's never won the Korean order of merit when Hyo Joo, In Gee and Ha Na played there.

I'm surprised she was 8th in scoring while winning 3 times. She definitely has the talent. I really hope someone is able to hang w/ Lydia week in and week out. The best bet is probably In Gee for the next 7 years.

This is Sung Hyun's third year. She didn't really start to perform at a star level until just before last year's Korean Women's Open (1.5 years into her career), but she really hit her stride in the second half of last season. Since then, she's been brilliant. Sometimes, it just takes a little seasoning before someone clicks. In her three LPGA events, she's finished top five in two and 13th in the other. Not bad! Having said that, I think In Gee has a much better all around game.

After that she got progressively better and better. That's why she wasn't that high on the scoring average list. I bet if you looked at her second half scoring she had the best average on tour...

If I'm not mistaken, Sung Hyun is older than In Gee. Did she start late? Did she have an illustrious amateur career like Hyo Joo or In Gee? Most elite professional golfers come from well groomed amateur programs. Players, like Brook Koepka of PGA, who don't have the same pedigree; usually don't reach the pinnacle of either PGA or LPGA.

It's very fun to see the KLPGA stars immediately do well on the LPGA. There is a real payoff to following the young stars on the KLPGA. I saw S.H.Park hit a ball for the first time at the Hana Bank last year and I thought, and Karen Supples said at the same time, "Hold on, that's the best golf swing I've ever seen." In Gee's short game is sublime but S.H. impressed this week as well. The flopper on 16 was impressive. It was fun to hear the broadcast team rave about her. They are finally learning that these are players to get immediately excited about and inform the audience.
