Hmmmm.....I see a new avatar Phil...is this a reverse karma strategy this week in a weak field? Nothing complicated like that...I concluded that I have NO reverse Karma power whatsoever (look at Gerina last week). Bottom line: Mi Hyang hasn't won in 18 months and I need to take some positive action. I'll probably update it once a week using pix that include her caddies...that should cover the next two months. Old Mike at the 2015 British Open gets the honor today.

I posted how to embed tweets/instagram several weeks ago. Guess y'all missed the memo. Click on the tweet you want to post until it is focused on your web page. Copy the URL from the page. Then, go to a thread where you want to post a tweet and click Reply to get the edit text box to appear. Use the <> button that is on the far right of the menu bar in the Create Post box (next to the smiley face). To post a tweet, just click on the little birdie (second from left on the top row of the menu that pops up) Then paste the URL into the spot labeled tweet URL. Bingo! Still haven't been able to figure out how to get videos to play, though. Here is the URL for the above video: Click here to view video(Instagram works the same way, only use the Instagram icon instead of the bird)

The USGA received apps from 1855 players, 18 short of the last year's record total. The oldest entrant is 1979 USWO champ Jerilyn Britz at 73!!!! She did it at Brooklawn CC in Fairfield, CT. The qualifier tee times are set for next Monday, May 9 at The Home Course in DuPont, WA: www.ghintpp.com/wsga/TPPOnlineScoring/Pairings.aspx?id=222Forty amateurs in a field of forty-eight...including Muni He. I'm guessing they'll have no more than two spots up for grabs...hard to see how Muni can botch this, but a lot can happen over 36 holes.

Happy & Vern If you can you should attend the qualifier next Monday....I know I would if it was closer.....The Home Course is suppose to be an excellent track with great reviews...besides...Muni should be enough reason to attend.
I'm surprised more gals from Van City aren't qualifying here.
I'm hoping to be in the US on Monday to hit the links to use up a 2 for 1 coupon.

NJ's field of 78 is set for May 24...almost half are amateurs: www.njsga.org/_media/52416info.pdfThis field is pretty weak compared to some of the past NJ qualifiers I have attended...oh well. The three biggest names are R.L. Bentham, Sophia Popov, and Amelia Lewis. Another player worth checking out is Eun Jeong Seong, who is the 2nd ranked amateur out of Korea and has played several pro events since last year.

I thought this was supposed to be in the Everett area! Shoot! I can't get off work on such short notice. Is this the same course where they held the final Public Linx tournament I went to a couple of years ago?

In DuPont WA, Muni He was tied for first with a 72 after the morning round, but couldn't go low the second time around...no USWO photo shoot by tonyj this year. Naomi (Eun Young) Ko of Victoria BC was the only qualifier (74-67-141). She just completed her freshman year at North Carolina State U. with a 75.33 scoring average. LYDIA KO SCOPES OUT CORDEVALLE AHEAD OF U.S. WOMEN'S OPEN www.lpga.com/news/2016-lydia-ko-scopes-out-cordevalleWorld No.1 Lydia Ko made the trip to San Martin where she told LPGA.com she played the course twice over two days in order to get familiar with the new track . “It was my first time playing at CordeValle,” said Ko. “The course and the area is really beautiful. I feel like it’s a different style of course to the other U.S. Open courses.” Ko was cautious, however, aware that playing the course three months ahead of the Championship is sure to be different from the conditions she’ll face in July.

Congrats to Naomi who caught lightening in a bottle for rd 2....I've seen her name before. But she is ranked about 200 positions in WAGR behind Muni and Caroline.

I was thinking, do anyone else have a special USWO memory. In Gees final round was pretty special.
My most memorable USWO final round had to be. Allison Nichols denying Nancy Lopez the Grand Slam in the Open. I think it was Lopez final year. Allison had one of those go for broke swings. It was like the final round Jimin Kang played against Julie Inkster to deny her history. Not sure but I think it were Allison's only LPGA win.
