Ha Neul Kim has embraced her nickname this season. Not just a nickname: Ha Neul literally translates as 'Sky' (or Heaven in the religious sense). Haneul saek = light blue color like the sky.

I see similarities....The Japanese fawning over Smile Candy = Merica's drolling over The Canadian Princess.

Phil Do you have a wrench? If not....the range likely will have one you can borrow to experiment with....I almost guarantee you'll likely loft up. If you are unfamiliar with a wrench...especially a TM wrench...you tighten until you hear a click.

Phil Do you have a wrench? If not....the range likely will have one you can borrow to experiment with....I almost guarantee you'll likely loft up. If you are unfamiliar with a wrench...especially a TM wrench...you tighten until you hear a click. Regarding a wrench, I don’t have one. Ebay has the Adams version, of course. A wrench at the driving range is a good idea. Today’s comparison test between my Cleveland Launcher 460 Titanium 10.5 and my Adams XTD 10.5 (set at 10.5) was far from final or satisfactory. As a warm-up, I went through a bag of ten Top-Flites a couple of times with a 7-iron, my first swings in three months. Then I walked to the far end of the park with the big sticks. So the test would be fair, I was hitting six brand new Dunlop Tour JD balls (a cheap acquisition off Ebay about 7-8 years ago). My original plan was to hit three marked balls by each driver, pin the ball locations with green wire gardening stakes, and pace off the differences. But, it doesn’t work when four of the shots are far left and far right! Of the two good ones down the middle, Adams was ahead by about four yards. To draw any conclusions from this would flunk me out of Stats 101 class. I repeated the test, but couldn’t find one of the balls (I should have bought some orange balls, which you can find a lot easier in this mowed cow pasture of a field). Again, excessive dispersion made any measurements almost meaningless. Then I had a better idea: Hit all five balls with the Cleveland, mark the spot of each ball, then hit all the balls with the Adams. Maybe I was really ready now, because I murdered the Cleveland on the first three balls...high and down the middle with a tiny bit of draw (I’m a righty)…the ideal drive in my book. That did not happen with the Adams. The Adams seemed h-e-a-v-y. I just could not “close the door” fast enough...constant rightward leakage...I hate that ball flight, regardless of how far it went. The Cleveland’s Fujikura stock ‘R’ shaft is 55g, while the Adams’ ‘R’ Matrix 6Q3 Red Tie shaft is 65g. The Adams head probably has more stuff in it, too. Its Golf Pride CP2 Pro grip did nothing for me...I will swap it out with my last Lamkin X10 midsize (extra tape under right hand) this weekend. Then I’ll test it again, maybe next week, to see if I can get it to turn over.

Phil: 1) If you want to buy a wrench...I think TM, Cally, Titleist and Ping all have universal wrenches.
2) I think with what you have described there are 2 potential issues why you have low fades, when you are trying to obtain higher straight or draw drives: a) you need to loft up...XTD is a low spin head....set the face at 12*...with more loft...the face closes...therefore promoting a draw. b) The Red Tie is supposedly a 'real' aftermarket shaft....the real deal....it is mid kick, mid spin, heavier and will play more stout compared to your lighter low kick Fujikura in your Launcher.
3) I recommend you not change the grip until you at least experiment with the club for 2 - 4 weeks......it your are having issues drawing the ball...a mid size grip or extra tape is typically counterproductive in allowing your hands to flip/turn over.
The XTD head is suppose to be super explosive....you should normally gain distance with this club over your Launcher.
If all else fails....I'd say the Red Tie is too stout for you. I believe the Adams adapter is a TM adapter....if your have a friend with a 'softer' TM shaft....try it out to see if your issues are resolved. If yes...trade with him....maybe he will like the Red Tie more. Or you can try to swap shafts on Craigslist to a softer TM shaft.
If all else fails....sell the club.....heck you might even make a few bucks or at most lose $10-$15....big deal.
FWIW....a friend gave me his stiff Speeder Evolution 67 that came with his R15 TP model....I could hit it but it felt a tad heavy compared to the stock 49 gm stock Velox Jetspeed shaft. I was able to talk a Golftown rep to swap a Speeder Evolution 57 in stiff from a demo club.....whether it really does make a difference or is only a placebo effect...my mind feels more comfortable with the 57.....10 gms really shouldn't make a difference....or maybe it affects the club's swingweight a bit. The best shaft for me is to get fit and then try it out in real life....but I'm not going to the likes of GolfTec for a fitting session and be told it will cost me $400 for my best fit aftermarket shaft on my $80 Jetspeed.....lol
Maybe if I can become the future Mr. HYP...maybe then.... can I get a fitting and Graphite Design shaft hand me down for free.

...with more loft...the face closes... If true, that's a relief. Yes, I could see the Adams ball flight was definitely lower at 10.5 compared to the Cleveland 10.5. It makes sense to hold off on the grip change until I try it at 12.
