I was out most of the day, but came home in time see Jang and Ko finish up on the 18th green. The next two JTBC Golf replays are at 7:30 PM and 11 PM EST. Do you think she practiced her baton routine ahead of time? This, plus kissing the green after that 218-yard double eagle last week...she is a bit hammy. But, I don't want to quash her enthusiasm. I'll bet there were LPGA players back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s who were doing the same stuff. Sakura Yokomine's approach shot at #17...totally empty bleachers...was everyone at the beer garden?

The top 5 finishers are Ha Na, Brooke, In Gee, Sei Young and Lydia; 23, 18, 21, 23 and 18. These are even younger than the young tigers of the PGA tour.
It's plausible that these will be the top 5 players in the world at some point in time.

Yes they all displayed top five form. I was 41 years old when Brooke and Lydia were born. Everyone thought Nancy Lopez was one of a kind. She was just ahead of her time. You have to be young to play pro golf now.

Way to go, Ha Na! She slayed the field. Touché!
Looks like both Henderson and Chun have acclimated themselves to the tour right away. I will have to make them future Pakpicker picks.
I definitely do NOT like Saturday finishes. I was not able to see a single stroke of this tournament on TV.

You've made up an argument we didn't have ... This all started in the SS award thread when you said that you thought Annie was in the same league as GIMME. I said (and proved) that they were in the same league as amateurs. I never said that I expected Annie to be a great pro, or that as a rookie she will be comparable to second year player Alison Lee. In fact, I said the opposite: I think she may turn out great, maybe, but the odds are against her, as they are for most star amateurs (as they were for Alison, in fact). Are we now clear?

Congratulations to Ha Na Jang on her first win, and a wire-to-wire triumph at that! The KLPGA ladies are really carrying the water for the Sisters early on. Hyo Joo last week, with Sei Young runner-up. This week it was Ha Na, with In Gee and Sei Young in third. Ha Na had it really tough. She got the long day yesterday in freezing weather, then had to deal with a downpour today. It was downright ridiculous when Sei Young hit into that one green with standing water on it. Yeesh! Some of the stars had their struggles: Thompson with the inexplicable decision to putt through that gnarly wet fringe, and Ko, who had a meltdown the likes of which we rarely see. Jang was not putting well. She did not make a birdie until 16. But she hung tough as Florence challenged her on the back nine, and made the birdie to move back into the solo lead at just the right time. Her shot of the week was no doubt the approach on 18, which she put close enough to insure the win. Anyone who ever says, ever again, that the Koreans are unemotional needs to see how hard a time Ha Na had keeping it together while waiting to hit her last putt. And she contributed the awesome celebration move at the end, which was not only wicked cool but actually kind of impressive. I would have sent that putter sailing across the green for sure if I tried that. (You'll notice no one soaked her after the win; probably unnecessary given the weather!). Sei Young Kim is usually uber clutch in these kinds of situations, so that three putt on 18 was really unexpected. But she still gave it a great run, another top five to start her year. In Gee did a fine job in her first LPGA start. Despite the fact her putter wasn't giving her respect, she made some great shots coming in and notched a t-3rd, beating all the other rookies in the process (although Simin Feng was only a shot back). If only we could have seen more of her! And kudos to Julie Yang on her best ever LPGA finish, a t-6th. Congrats again to Ha Na! So now who is the best Korean without an LPGA win (limiting it to players on tour)? Jenny Shin? Sisters fighting!!! PS: search engine on the Korean internet listed the top sports stories as: 1. Ha Na Jang win 3. In Gee Chun 4. LPGA Coates Championship 6. Julie Yang Some interest in this tournament over there!

Simin isn't technically a rookie. The Rookie of the Year leaders are:
In Gee 75 Megan Khang 48 Gaby Lopez 24 Lee Lopez 19 Rachel Rohanna 10

Congrats to The Hulk. I always enjoy it when a pro can sink a birdie when it's means nothing.
Now everyone understands the normal playing conditions here in Van City in the winter....the conditions in Ocala would be a "10" here.
How bush league of the LPGA and Golden Ocala...not to be able to find a squeegee to get rid of the standing water on the greens...this wouldn't happen on the PGA tour.
Lydia should be ashamed of herself for handing the trophy to her competitors on a silver platter. If she doesn't win the NZ and Oz Opens (both with very week fields)...The Dragon Lady will be very confused if she doesn't hand Jason his pink slip.
I'm a little concerned that Bada*s 3 jacked the 18th when a putt counts on the final hole...she's gotta listen to Johnny Miller....when stress is on...players tend to shove a putt right....SYK also shoved a 6 ft birdie on 18 that didn't sniff the hole on 18 that would have got her into a playoff at the 2015 CP CWO.
SYR better do something fast....she'll be on the outside looking in for the Int'l Crown and Olympics.

I am going to give SYR another two months to straighten out her golf game, before I start to go after the new instructor, the same way I have confronted Tom "Cheater" Creavy for wrecking Se Ri. Why is he a 'cheater'?

Alison 2, Annie 0 ... why does HF keep taking the bait? Because Happy luvs the tasty worms I cast.....but I'm going to have to change to marshmallows....SayYouSeRi never nibbles on those worms.

She normally knows when the cameras are on. This is classic Wiesy....scribbling her autograph and trying to get out of dodge ASAP. The guy asks how she's doing .....and she ignores him. Wie was paired with Gulbis at the 2013 Safeway....MW is gone within maybe a minute signing autos...Gulbis takes her time greeting fans, signing autos and taking pics with the fans...then she reaches into her golf bag and pulls out some baseball cards and signs them for the fans...Gulbis fans just aren't just the male old farts and teenagers....many middle aged women want her auto too. Yes, Natalie is a ceremonial golfer...but she will be sorrily miss on tour....as least in my books.
