It is an amazing coincidence that withdrawals always happen when a player is over par with no chance to win. Unfortunately Se Ri has been a trendsetter in this category. Jack Youngblood would have been a pathetic professional golfer. He played in the 1979/1980 playoffs, Superbowl and even the freaking Pro Bowl with a broken leg. If a player is hurt but is still in contention, they are far more likely to stick it out. If they're hurt and that injury is affecting their game, it just makes sense to pull out. An article on Golf Channel said that Inbee might not play for the rest of the year if her finger doesn't get better. That would be a real drag. I would like to see her at least take a shot at Ko and the season ending awards. Inbee doesn't make a habit of dropping out when she's playing badly, so I would cut her some slack...(and in these conditions, +3 isn't even that bad). On the plus side, Sei Young Kim is back after several rather weak events. Let's see if she can hang in there for the weekend. With Hyo Joo dropping out, this could be her chance to lock up Rookie honors. Of course, Minjee Lee is also lurking not far back. Go Ladies!!!

I hope it doesn't rain and remains windy......and I'm loving the firm conditions into the greens, the false fronts and green side drop offs and many humps and hollows on the greens. I also appreciate the length on many par 4's.
It might seem like a bit of a bore to watch because of all the 3 jacks and sloppy chipping leading to bogey's or more....but come Sunday afternoon....let's see who doesn't vomit coming home.
Of the 23 players at +3 or better...only 3 pros have 2+ wins (SYK, SP & SL). Odds would see a 1 time or 1st time winner...but if conditions remain tough....I think SYK pulls it off. She's been scrambling OK and I think Tutta's 69 was an aberration and the Golf Gods are not ready to forgive SP yet....Lewis will be around....but will come up short again...her ball striking is kinda loose. I hope I didn't jinx SYK...otherwise Happyfan may ban my sorry butt.

- Inbee Park has withdrawn before Round 2. Anybody have any news about why? Guess we'll hear about it during the broadcast. What...more Merican racism???...no concerns about the white faced Spaniard's WD?

1) How about these scores...they killed it last year, but what happened this year? 2) Mo Martin continues to spurn the advances of Mr. TaylorMade, but Hee Young Park is a little more agreeable. 1) Wet soft conditions last year and likely playing lift, clean & CHEAT. 2) I don't think a TM van follows the LPGA....I wonder if Mo has asked her peers if she can do a quick swap on the range to try out a SLDR, R15 or M1 head with the screw on shaft adapters. The Rocket is using the TP head.

Hopefully Inbee will recover quickly and temporarily regains her status as number one--until IGC takes over next year.

Surprised that the Wikipedia page showed her as BR Eransus. Or is that a Spanish thing to also use mother's name?

Just watched part of round 2 (because of course round 3 won't be shown until they are playing round 4). What a beautiful setting! And what fun to try to putt those greens - IF you weren't trying to earn your living. There shouldn't be any problems with fans not adhering to golf course etiquette, since there seem to be no fans at all. Is nobody staying in all those high rise buildings?!

HaHa - Just to show Recari a little love, do you know if she is married? Surprised that the Wikipedia page showed her as BR Eransus. Or is that a Spanish thing to also use mother's name? I don't think she's married to her long time BF/caddie. I think Bea is a moody person...I remember her slamming her BF on Twitter at an airport......what we men won't put up with to be with a hot looking women just for a little luvin. Bea was kind of aloof when I saw her 2013 and she was down right miserable at this year's CP CWO....going to the range, she walked by 3 girls asking for autographs...you rarely see that with the LPGA pros. Marriage isn't a big priority with the Euros....I can't believe Belen isn't married....if I dated Belen....I'd be at the chapel within 5 weeks of our 1st date.

Either 1) all the condo dwellers are working 14 hrs/day, 7 days a week for a $180 monthly salary to work in sweat shops so Mericans can buy $4 T-shirts at Walmart or 2) the condos are vacant or uncompleted....you can't believe how many projects have been abandoned in China....I witnessed it in 2011.

Hmmmmm...bada*s SYK won her 2 events in playoffs at tropical courses nearby water....likely all bermuda grass too.
With hopefully the same tough set up and windy dry conditions...it's near impossible to predict a winner with a tightly bunch leader board.
But The Smiling Buddha has rubbed his boiler to predict: 1) A SYK win in a playoff....SYK seems to have fun out there. 2) Lewis will get in her own way early and play with a pouty face...come up short of winning and writing the Westin Hotel a check for $5,000 cause she trashed her room 3) Tutta won't win because Alison Lee has put a jinx on her and Tutta will throw a Chinese guy into the pond cause he snapped a picture in her backswing. 4) Lydia will post a top 10 and save Jason's butt from a tongue lashing from The Dragon lady this evening.
I'm luvin the late night live stream...thx Phil.
I just can't understand why so many pros bailed on this event....a beach side tournament, a large purse and your expenses paid....huh...WTF....do they really hate the Chinese that much?

I was seeing a lot of bad scores on line before the 9pm PST live stream. There's virtually no wind...which takes away from any sever playing conditions....therefore I think this will be to Lewis's advantage on the back 9.

I was seeing a lot of bad scores on line before the 9pm PST live stream. There's virtually no wind...which takes away from any sever playing conditions....therefore I think this will be to Lewis's advantage on the back 9. Happy You can thank me for my reverse strategy by sending The Smiling Buddha a box of Callaway SR2's....thanks!!! Tony, Cindy, Golfing Grammy & Chigger.....so your gal, Stacy "Kevin Na" Lewis, gets taken down by another Korean....this time a 'REAL ONE'. I really thought Lewis would win with minimal wind today.....taking out many variables. SYK really needs to send Candie and Stacy some really nice presents...they gifted her the win....all three gagged it on 17......SYK stubbing the monkey 25 yards short on a relatively short tee shot and what looked to be a 2 shot swing when Kung and Lewis stiffed their shots..... and then didn't convert. I really don't know if Stacy is over reading the line on her putts when they count....but a positive is her commitment to hit her stroke and not dwell....maybe this needs to alter to change things up. Great shot into 18 and sinking the 8 footer for the win...OH YA!!!....SYK really is a bada*s!!!! I was shocked that SYK acknowledged Stacy as her idol/role model in her winner's speech.....but maybe this shouldn't be a shock. There were many Korean ladies who really got excited, shouting her name and raced over to the Stacy to get her autograph at the CP CWO and I saw a Korean lady's Kakao avatar and it included a picture of Stacy....huh? If a Martian was watching the LPGA...he/she would think Stacy and Suzann were sisters. Lewis bogeying the 18th on Saturday and then spearing her putter towards her bag and then pulling her shirt up to her mouth to cover up her swearing. Then on Sunday...Tutta chokes on 17 with a failed Texas Leaguer of her golf ball.....then after Xi Yu Lin wedges in on 18 for an eagle...she's all amp'd...gets a huge hug from her Chinese playing aprtners......and it seemed like Tutta didn't give Janet any luvin....followed up with her cold hand shake to Xi Yu Lin on 18 and then stood under Janet's umbrella getting in her space...the look on Xi Yu Lin's face was priceless...she didn't know what do do cause she thought Tutta might bust her one. Jason will sleep better this evening....I wonder if Old Mike will be on the plane to Japan after a +10 weekend from MHL.

Great win for Sei Young Kim. Not withstanding what some person writes. Nobody gave her the tournament. She won by making four birdies on the back nine. She is a closer and always has been. Even in her KLPGA days.
She really needs to find another role model.
