I guess Pornanong was not in the best dressed contest. If so, she should have won. Well, I'm not a big fan of Alison Lee, but I thought she had by far the best outfit. Different strokes I guess!

Mi Hyang is -2 thru 14 and Jenny from the ROK is -1 thru 16...both started on the back nine and I assume neither will get any TV time.

Sung Hyun Park's golf swing is mesmerizing. Not just saying because she shot 62. The 2nd shot she hit in the TV coverage I said to myself "that's the best swing I've ever seen." and a moment later Karen Stupples interrupted her broadcast partner to say the same thing. It's got a "whooosh" to it.

I like the pairing of Michelle Wei, Lexi Thompson and Sung Hyun Park. Should be bombs away with that group. But they also need to be accurate. I guess Sung Hyun Park was accurate in the first round!

Boy, is Mi Hyang fickle...she exhumed Geezer Mike for this week! Or maybe it was daddy's call. Either way, I better watch my step around her and daddy next year at the Seaview...I'll prepare a list of what I should do, say, and bring...one wrong move and I'll be thrown out of her posse.

Sung Hyun Park continued her blistering form from two weeks ago, but even I wasn't expecting her to shoot a 62. Wow! It will be interesting to see if she can keep it up for three more rounds, but that was a heck of a start! Two second tier KLPGA golfers made a splash, too: Rookie Han Sol Ji at 5 under (this is the same golfer as Han Sul Ji, but I will use this new spelling from now on) and Hae Rym Kim at 4 under. Kim is coming off a good performance at the Pak Se Ri Invitational, so she might be one to watch; but Ji seems the prototypical KLPGA player who wins this thing. Both Shi Hyun Ahn and Jee Young Lee were 19-year-old rookies when they won a decade ago; Ji is also a 19-year-old rookie. Hae Rym Kim Interestingly, except for Q Baek, the top KLPGAers don't seem to win here. Jiyai Shin, So Yeon Ryu, Hyo Joo Kim, So Yeon Ryu, Bo Mee Lee, Hee Kyung Seo, Ha Neul Kim, Ha Na Jang - none of those stars ever won this when they were on the KLPGA. Han Sol Ji is good but not a top player yet, so let's watch and see if she can put herself in the hunt. Alas, In Gee and So Yeon, the two players I was most rooting for, both stumbled a bit out of the gate. In Gee apparently shot a 76 in round 1 last year and still rallied and nearly won, so she at least did better than that this opening round! The other KLPGA big names, Jin Young Ko (-1) and Jung Min Lee (75) also underperformed. Decent start by Inbee at 69; she'll be playing with Lydia Ko in round two! The most intriguing names on the leaderboard are Hyo Joo at 5 under and Na Yeon at 4 under. NYC has won here twice before, and should be well rested. But is she too rusty? Hyo Joo has won in Korea this season, and being home seems to energize her. Go Sisters!

Some more round 1 pix Sung Hyun Park - I told ya to keep an eye on her! Hyo Joo Kim's attempt to do rabbit ears on Minjee Lee went terribly wrong... ... but Minjee recovered Chella Choi Il Hee Lee Rocket Hee Young Park Danielle Kang In Gee Chun Alison Lee Jenny Shin Min Sun Kim Q Baek Anna Nordqvist

Great round by Sung Hyun Park.
I don't know if the pressure to win her sponsor's tournament is affecting So Yeon's play. Three times with a medium irons, she under clubbed and came up short. It lead to bogies, because her short game was not up to par either. Her putting is also not helping her. Hoping for at least a top ten, which is a stretch.

I did not say that she would not be. I just indicated that they were all long drivers of the ball. I have watched Sung Hyun win on the KLPGA and know she has a great game.

If you don't think MHL's dad isn't hanging out with The Dragon Lady nowadays....then you are confused. MHL's dad is trying to break Ko's record of 9 different loops in one season. I suspect MHL is a bit of a Drama Queen. She wasn't overly friendly when I mentioned to her at the CP CWO....that Phil from NJ says hi and said I should watch her play...she gave me a dumb founded look without a smile. Any other pro would have sparked up a conversation.....it's not as if MHL has 2000 fans following her at each event.

Great rd by SHP. If playing conditions are the same in rd 2 and she doesn't make any dumb mental mistakes....I suspect she shoots -3 or -4 today. Her 1st rd didn't seem to have any 'lucky' shots/putts...so I think she can follow up today with another good performance.

Someone please shoot me....is there anyone else who agrees with me?....I can't listen to motor mouth Stupples.....ugh.
The coverage last night was lousy....all we saw was putting....minimal shots.
I don't need to see The Pink Diva or SYR choking it up....they showed minimal shots by SHP on her brilliant rd.
