Thanks to the LPGA dropping the 2015 Reignwood tourney in China, the JWO is going to be a super Major this year (Oct. 1-4)…Teresa Lu will defend. If you missed the news, they’ll have all the JLPGA stars, plus SY Ryu, HJ Kim, SS Feng, Dumbo, Q Baek, both Miyazatos, and S. Yokomine. They’ve got 119 names in the field; I assume they reserved one open spot for the winner of the Miyagi (if that person hasn’t already qualified). Hee Kyung Bae has not qualified, but if she wins the Miyagi will she drop out of the OK/Pak in Korea to play the JWO? They’re playing at Katayamazu GC in central Japan, less than a half-mile from the Sea of Japan. But, it’s no lunar links layout...this 54-hole complex has 80,000 pine trees. They’re playing the longest of the three courses there and it will be set at 6,613 yards. Nothing posted yet by SBS Golf, but I assume they’ll do their studio broadcast...considering the field, they should have some people there in person, too. Someone asked in another thread about a purse comparison, JLPGA vs. KLPGA. The JWO is $1.157M and Se Ri’s event is $504K.

Not too many of those players would have played in Se Ri's tournament anyway.

What.....Caucasians aren't allowed to play?.....I just watched a women's tennis match last night at The Japan Open with Woz and some other white faced gal. That's a slap in the face to Se Ri that SYR, HJK, Dumbo, Q Baek, etc are playing in Japan. If not for Se Ri...they'd be school teachers making $40k/yr. And why are the S. Korean companies backing Se Ri to provide a purse worth playing for.....someone's got to step up to the plate....significantly shell over a $2.5M purse and call Whan to co-sanction...Reignwood is history.

mr3putt: You are a toxic influence...I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT! The player list is on the Japan Golf Association website. Of course, the names are in Japanese, but each is hyperlinked to a profile that has the player's name in English. As I confirmed each of the Asian invitees, I began to wonder why I hadn't come across a single player from North America or Europe. Two players who have played Japan many times (excluding the LPGA co-sponsored TOTO/Mizuno) are Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer. They frequently like to have at least one blonde in their Majors. Maybe they asked a few non-Asian players and were turned down. Maybe the JGA has an ace up its sleeve for the 120th spot in the field.

Seriously...you honestly expect the entitled Pink One to go to Japan and actually play with some customers from Ricoh or Golf Digest Japan....take your meds my friend.

HappyFan will lose it because a more deserving Sista vs. Brooke got the invite.

Yeah, I was thinking that Brooke H. would be a stroke of genius for the JWO, but after checking her Twitter it doesn't seem likely: I wonder if they asked Bam Bam...they should promise her a trip on a Japanese whaling vessel.

I wonder if they asked Bam Bam...they should promise her a trip on a Japanese whaling vessel. Nah....I see Bam playing Blue Bay and going out with some Chinese officials and SS Feng to harpoon some shark fins. I expect Smith Falls, Ontario to be soon converted to Brookeville, Ontario,

I could swear Creamer has been in the field of this event before, but I wouldn't begin to know where to look to confirm it.

The JGA posted the 120th name, but with the list in Japanese, I have no clue who it is...probably another Japanese player. Maybe that name will pop up in a news story later.
NHK appears to the be Japanese TV broadcaster for this one. If I find a streaming source, I'll post it. I assume SBS Golf will have it also, but they haven't posted the Oct. 1-4 sked yet.

Meet Brooke Henderson and her caddie! LMAO Cent...you're just about as funny as fanofseri...but the old fart has decades of sarcasm experience....you're just a young pup. Talk about LMAO...the cut at the Symetra event was +11 this week...yikes...oh wait...I shot +11 in one rd a month ago...I s*ck....and Brittany missed at +13. Even if by a long shot, should Brittany secure a LPGA card one year...it would likely be a one year stint....the gals are maturing so quickly nowadays.....golf brilliance usually shows up by 21 at the latest. Nothing wrong with looping for Brooke until shes goes into another career direction.

Brittany is a college grad with some knowledge about golf management. If she ends up being Brooke's business manager, it wouldn't surprise me.

SBS Golf must be crazy...after the OK/Pak they have scheduled the 2015 Asia Pacific Amateur Golf Championship...WTH? Maybe someone will sober up at the last minute and put in the JWO. Meanwhile, I better poke around for a Japanese streaming option.
