Industry Hills is a public facilty 20 miles east of downtown LA. 36 holes on top of a landfill were built by the Mafia. Its a pretty good facility for So Cal. They have a funicular. I didnt think any other course had one until now.

mr3putt: I wouldn't know. I assume the Japanese fans are no different from Americans...they want Japanese players to win more than anyone else (assuming that player doesn't look or act like Frankenstein). I think the cheers would have been louder if Momoko had won last Sunday, instead of Bo Mee or Teresa Lu. I didnt think any other course had one until now. Wasn't the 2011 Kia held at IH where Sandra beat Ji Ya for the win...supposedly a hilly course with a small range??? I believe a lot of Koreans were in the galleries. So if ANA decided to move it's event away from Palm Springs before it becomes a Symetra event...is there a good course in LA that would be willing to host the event on a yearly basis....therefore the real LA fans...the Koreans need not drive 2 hrs to the desert. Trump National?

Industry Hills is sort of hilly and the range stinks and it is smoggy and hot. I don't remember the 2011 tournament I must have been asleep.
Trump National is an awful place to watch a tournament. I can no longer remember what ladies event I watched there but I left after a couple of hours. It is a pretty good golf course--if you don't have to pay. The women should have a major at either LA Country Club or Riviera. Those are the only truly great golf courses in Los Angeles County. It is highly unlikely that will ever happen.
The LPGA did hold a tournament at the Wilshire Country Club before. It is not a great course but good for watching golf. It is adjacent to Koreatown but I don't think there were more than 1,000 or 2,000 people there the few times I visited and only a handful of Koreans were there. Of course that was when you only had Se Ri, Grace Park and Peanut.

I assume Teresa Lu is a WD...she has no tee time for Round Two. Regarding Industry Hills GC, you're right about it hosting the LPGA a few years. If I recall right, the players complained about the hills, the length, the blind shots, etc. It's a regular locale for the USGA's USWO qualifying. Is there a qualitative difference between the "Ike" 18 and the "Babe" 18? What about that historic muni, Rancho Park GC, which once had the men's LA Open? By the late '60s/early '70s, the pampered touring pros considered it a dump and the tourney was moved to Riviera for good. Per Wikipedia, the LPGA was at RPGC for the Sunstar Classic (1978-80), then the event was renamed Olympia Gold Classic and moved to Industry Hills GC (1981-82). Leader Ayaka Matsumori...this blue TM Gloire F cap is so cool...I want one...but there's only Gloire F equipment on Ebay...this gear is popular on the JLPGA, but I can't remember seeing anyone with it on the KLPGA...I wish I could look at this stuff in person...Ebay has a used Gloire F 7-Iron in Tokyo for $165 ...I wonder if the TM ladies on the Asian tours will switch en masse to the M1 drivers, like the PGA tour guys have just done. I assume the LPGA ladies will get the M1s quickly.

Phil You're very observant....I didn't know TM had an Asian line. So I looked....is the Gloire line a men's or women's line-up...seem it has some men's specs. So why isn't Sharon endorsing them.
Ya those M1 PGA hats are ugly. Rumor is the M31 will be launched on Halloween.

Sharon with Gloire gear in a publicity pic when she first joined TMAG in 2014, but that was strictly marketing to women golfers...she never used that product line. I agree that the current 2015 Gloire F product is designed for pros, per what I saw on TMAG's Japan website. TMAG's Korean website no longer has anything for the Gloire. *********** Bo Mee Lee is -2...
