It's getting hairy over there...Teresa Lu is now one spot ahead of Bo Mee Lee on the Rolex Rankings. They're both in action this week, starting Friday...SBS Golf will carry all three days at 5 PM local time. The poster below shows two current LPGAers...if I learn of more, I'll post the news.

The additional news is not related to this tournament. A translated Japanese article (which reads like gibberish, of course) mentions an upsurge of talent into the Japan Women's Open (Oct. 1-4), because that's the same week of the cancelled Reignwood event in China. The first paragraph mentions Ai Miyazato, Mika Miyazato, and Sakura Yokomine...I don't know if these three originally planned to play the JWO, but they seem to be in it now. The second paragraph includes the names SR Ryu, HJ Kim, SS Feng, and Dumbo...the last three have won in Japan before.
Se Ri Pak's KLGPA tourney will be the same weekend, so maybe they'll get some Reignwood spillover, too.

Phil That's pretty sweet about the JWO...but isn't it a slap in the face to the Queen if the likes of SYR, HJK, Dumbo play in Japan vs. Se Ri's event.

Phil & fanofseri You two are wrinkled enough...did you guys sport the Penguin back in the days? I inherited...ok...maybe I took....2 Munsingwear golf shirts that my dad used to wear in the 60's that I sported in the early 80's.

My Dad has never golfed and I don't remember him wearing a Penguin shirt ever. Munsingwear is still around in the U.S. as a division of Perry Ellis, but I don't see Munsingwear golf attire sold anywhere...and their sportswear is hard to find, period. Maybe it's all online now.
Of course, it's one of Descente's golf brands in Asia. The Japanese catalog has Korean traitor Mi Jeong Jeon. I was surprised not to see Jae Eun Chung in that catalog, as Japan is her main tour, but she is prominently displayed in the Korean catalog and on FB...she is a double agent.

In 1972, I made a hole in one on the 3rd hole at the Beloit Country Club, a 179 yard par 3. I used a MacGregor Tourney ball and a Spalding Elite 2 iron. I wore a Munsingwear white mock turtle neck with pink horizontal stripes. I still have the shirt and plan to wear it soon. It is a little threadbare and doesn't quite cover my belly button.

I just got my 2nd last April...the muni doesn't give out anything...so I got my own HOI trophy made up. My ball of choice in 1972 was the RAM....Gene Littler ball....I had to ask my dad if he had any...I never bought golf balls back then...some of my balls came from my dad's shag bag. I was still gaming my $35 used 7 piece starter set of Powerbuilt Citations that came with a black starter bag.....my 1st set of spikes were women's shoes...no jr. stuff back then.

I have two as well. The second ball was an orange Topflite that I found. It was so ugly I ended up hitting it into the creek behind my mother's house. I remember the first one piece ball I played was the Faultless. It was prone to splitting in half.

I don't know for sure, but I assume the Japan Women's Open has a much higher purse than Se Ri's tournament.

You can only bow down to a legend for so long. I doubt if most of the women on the LPGA know or care about Babe Didrikson, Louise Suggs or Patty Berg. Se Ri might have broken down the door, but she is a dinosaur now. The Koreans pay lip service to Se Ri, but sadly, Centurion is correct, you have to follow the money.

Rub it in, you two...I have no aces, but then I've played for only 27 years. I have to settle for a couple of wedge hole outs. The first was about a 75-yard SW in 1992 in the Baltimore area, can't remember which course. The second was 2-3 years ago at Quail Brook GC near me at the short par-4 10th, a PW from about 105. Faultless!!! That was the name I was trying to think of the other day. If you flip through issues of Sports Illustrated from the early 70s, you'll see their ads. Here's one...maybe Lee used their clubs, but you'll never make me believe he used their ball in competition. So, the Faultless ball would blow apart?! Didn't you believe their advertising(below)...one-piece sold sphere construction, you can't cut it, it won't go out-of-round, blah, blah, blah.

Bo Mee Lee getting in some practice. She has a superb website: www.leebomee.com/It's superb because it has blog postings and a lot of pix you won't see anywhere else. I assume someone else is doing the postings. Unfortunately, it appears that the blog pix are blocked from linking to another site and it won't even let me copy and paste the Japanese text for translation. Here's a sample dated 9/16/2015: www.leebomee.com/site/blogentry/blog-2015-27-1

Rub it in, you two...I have no aces, but then I've played for only 27 years. It's called a passive brag...OK...just an arrogant brag. .....both times I never say the ball go in the hole...my friend also had 2 aces and I never saw them go in neither. I never heard of Faultless or more likely...can't remember.
