Round 1: Two Tied for Lead
In round 1, perennial starlet Seon Woo Bae shot a 5 under par 67, tying her for the lead with Ye Jin Kim.  Jenny from the ROK aka Jenny Shin from the LPGA produced a 68 and is tied with Shin Ae Ahn for third.   Ha Neul Kim shot a 75, while Alison Lee scored a 74.   IK Kim shot a 70 and is three back.  Jung Min Lee and Yoon Ji Cho both have the chance to take over the top spot on the money list with a win, but both played terribly and are struggling to make the cut. Maybe Sydnee M. got cold feet and decided she needed to be in France a little earlier than planned to prepare for a "Major". There are 5 WDs on the scoreboard, including Jung Min Lee, leaving 122 players left in the field. The KLPGA's biggest tease is estimating how many additional strokes she'll take in Round 2 to complete the course.  I feel queasy...  Meanwhile, I like Il Hee Lee, but WTH is she doing?   |

Is that Jenny Shin in the blue? Jenny is cute but I've yet to watch her.....she might have some drama to her as per a contact from the Lorena event. Is Sydnee in Korea? Who is Sydnee? I've finally figured out who is 'Rocket' but I'm lost at some players you reference to. |

Round 2: Seon Woo Bae Surges to Big Lead
Seon Woo Bae has played well this year, occasionally contending and coming close to winning, but her breakout win has yet to come. On Friday, however, she shot a 68 that, coupled with her previous 67, gave her a three shot lead heading into the weekend.  Japanese player Haru Nomura, playing in the morning wave, had the round of the day, shooting a 65 to settle in at 6 under. Jenny Shin from the LPGA is third with 4 under, while another LPGA star, IK Kim, is tied for fourth at 2 under.  Jung Min Lee wound up dropping out, while Yoon Ji Cho had such a horrible second round she probably wishes she had. Meanwhile, Jin Young Ko shot a 73 for the second straight day. Not pretty, but she will be around for the weekend with an outside shot at taking the title and becoming the new money list leader.  Ha Neul Kim shot another 75 to finish at 6 over par. I kind of felt bad for Je Jin Kim.
After shooting sixty seven first round.
She got off to a really rough start putting.
Six over early, but played well the rest of the round.
Surprised that Jin Young Ko didn't skip the tournament and go to Evian early.

Il Hee Lee: you can love your putter, just don't LOVE your putter... Happy...that's not a putter....it's an Adams Super LS hybrid with a blue board shaft. IHL is likely blowing out some debris from the slot on the crown....the club also has a slot in the sole. The LS model has one of the hottest faces around...with a CT (characteristic time) of 250...7 points under the USGA limit....the slots help give the club a spring like effect to the ball at impact. These clubs can be had for cheap in the used club market.....actually most Adams gear depreciates fast. Adams had a lawsuit with TaylorMade about the slot technology....so TM said...OK....we'll just buy your company. With the shrinkage in golf...I expect the Adams brand to be extinct in a few years. Thx for the pics of Sky, Sharon and Alison....put in The Rocket and ya have an amazing Korean 4some .....that I'd certainly fanboy. |
