My field rating for this championship is a pretty solid 62%, up from 60.5% last year.
My breakdown is 66% from the LPGA Priority List and 58% from the Rolex World Rankings.
Eight of the top ten players in the world will be in attendance:
Lilia Vu (2)
Ruoning Yin (4)
Hannah Green (5)
Jin Young Ko (6)
Celine Boutier (7)
Ayaka Furue (8)
Haeran Ryu (9)
Amy Yang (10)
Top ten players not teeing it up this week:
Nelly Korda (1) Neck injury
Lydia Ko (3)
Other Stuff:
Hannah Green's victory this past weekend was her third win of the year, tying her with Lydia Ko for second place. Nelly Korda leads with six wins.
Haeran Ryu's top ten finish was her 11th of the year, which leads the LPGA tour. But the big story is Jeeno Thitikul picking up her 5th consecutive top ten and 10th of the year. Jeeno missed the first two months of the season and has teed it up just fifteen times this year. Jeeno led the the tour in top ten finishes in each of the past two years.
Mao Saigo continues to have a big lead in the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year race. She has earned 875 points. Jin Hee Im is in second place with 763. With just 5 tournaments left on the schedule it might take a victory for Im to take home the trophy.
There was some movement in the Rolex Rankings this week by LPGA players worth mentioning:
Hannah Green made the most important move advancing from 8 to 5.
Celine Boutier jumps from 10 to 7.
Ayaka Furue falls from 6 to 8, while Amy Yang slips from 7 to 10.
Chanattee Wannasaen springs up from 51 to 37.
Yu Jin Sung powers her way up from 81 to 68.
Yealimi Noh continues her hot streak, climbing from 94 to 87.
In the all important Race to the CME Globe, Yu Jin Sung wrapped up her playing card for 2025 vaulting up from 87 to 74.
PS: I will be away next week but will be back here before the tour moves to Hawaii.
