I was at the above event for a couple of hours .....my 1st Monday qualifier....I left early cause watching mediocre golf got boring...so I decided to play golf at nearby Swaneset (in Happy Gilmore and Rumble in The Bronx movies) so I could watch my own mediocre golf shots.
But I'll return to Pitt Meadows GC in the last week of August to play....I've got a 25% off coupon....haven't played there in years and forgot how small their greens are. It use to be a private course...but now has opened the tee sheet to the public.
FYI...because of the PNW heat the past 3 months....many courses are baked out due to water restrictions
BUT
You will see a green course at the CP CWO.....only two Van City private tracks have their own reservoirs.....VCC & Capilano (a snobby club....only WASP"s need apply).

Dropped by the CP CWO at 715pm tonight after golf to pick up something.
No one around except for....guess who?...yup....you guessed right...one of those robots who practices 10 hours a day...Chella on the practice green with maybe mom???
I then head over to a nearby H Mart Two Hanwha endorsed pros walk in....I'm looking and don't know who they are....no not Jenny Shin or Sydnee Michaels. So because I don't know who they are...I'm thinking they are rookies.
There's a guy in the group with a LPGA cred badge. So I ask him his daughter's name. He's actually the travelling Hanwha LPGA rep/manager (no not an agent). The two pros are Ji Young Oh and Haru Nomura.
JYO is pretty cute in real life and tall for a Korean
I just did a Google....they've been on tour since 2007 and 2011 and JYO has won twice....I didn't know.
I think I've should revoke my membership on this site and give up my Asian card.....I'm not a good Asian....I don't know all the Pac Rim gals. Too be honest....before I found this site....I could only recognize only 40% of the Korean pros and couldn't differentiate the other 60%....often I'd try to lean over to look at their golf bags for a name.

www.vancouversun.com/sports/golf/year+Tiffany+Kong+plays+into+Women+Open/11297358/story.html14-year-old Tiffany Kong plays her way into CP Women’s Open By Brad Ziemer, Vancouver Sun August 17, 2015 Tiffany Kong is so young, so tiny, that she is going to make fellow teens Brooke Henderson and Lydia Ko seem like wily veterans at this week’s CP Women’s Open at Vancouver Golf Club. The 14-year-old Vancouver resident played her way into the LPGA Tour event Monday and couldn’t quite believe it. “I am so excited right now,” Kong said. “I can’t believe I just made that putt and made those shots. Today was a fantastic day for me.” Kong fired an even-par 72 during the Monday qualifier at Pitt Meadows Golf Club. Forty-three women (and girls -- there was a 12-year-old in the field) teed it for four spots into the CP Women’s Open. Australian Stacey Keating clinched a spot with a two-under 70, as did Kristen Park of California, with her 71. Three players -- Kong, Calgary’s Nicole Zhang and Louise Stahle of Sweden -- were tied at 72. They went to a sudden-death playoff for the final two spots. Kong and Stahle both advanced after the first extra hole when Zhang three-putted from the fringe for bogey. After watching Zhang miss her par putt and tap in for bogey, Kong knew all she had to do was make her three-footer for par to earn a spot in the field. “Suddenly that putt felt so much longer than three feet,” she said with a smile. “This is going to be a huge event for me. I am definitely going to try and enjoy it. I’ll be gaining some great experience playing with LPGA Tour players. I am so excited.” It’s been quite the past few days for the diminutive Kong, who is about to enter Grade 9 at David Thompson Secondary and plays out of Fraserview Golf Course. She just returned from Fort McMurray, where she was part of B.C.’s winning team at the Western Canada Summer Games. Earlier this summer she tied for sixth at the Canadian Junior Girls Championship and placed fourth at the B.C. Junior Girls tourney. Kong is somewhat familiar with Vancouver Golf Club. “I have played a couple of tournaments there, but nothing like this,” she said. “It is a great course. I didn’t dream of something like this happening so soon.” She’ll play a practice round on Tuesday to try and familiarize herself with the course again and soak in the surroundings. “I hope I can play well,” she said. But most of all I want to have fun.” CHIP SHOTS: Keating, a 29-year-old from Melbourne, won the 2008 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship in Winnipeg. . .Former LPGA regular A.J. Eathorne of Penticton fired a two-over 74 and missed the playoff by two shots.

mr3putt, Google Maps shows a mall about three blocks west of VGC (I'm sure you already know this). You might see some players and caddies there at night. Bridgewater Commons mall was popular when the old Match Play was at Hamilton Farm GC. I remember seeing the Pink One go into Sephora...better to look good than practice like a robot. The CPWO website has the details on the pro-ams. They had a small one on Monday, which is unusual...18 groups in all, mostly with Canadian pros. Most of the groups also had an ex-Vancouver Canuck hockey player. The Wednesday pro-ams have 24 morning groups and 24 afternoon groups, teeing off at #1 or #10. Mi Hyang Lee will start at #1 at 12:48 PM...mr3putt, your attendance is mandatory.

I just had an image of her walking in there in her full golf regalia to get her most important supplies of the week. (Robots don't need makeup, just a tune up now and then!).

Tuesday
A lot of players absent or maybe showed up early. Seems like the Tuesday gallery from 2012 was larger than today...which is shocking to me.
Driving distance leader, Joanna Klatten, is SO CRAZY LONG with an UNBELIEVABLE high trajectory...like a PGA tour drive. She plays Honma clubs and say Honma is gaining popularity in France.
The AeroBurner, Callaway and G30 seem to be the drivers of choice.
Belen's brother, Jesus, is on Chella's bag....dad is a spectator. Belen has a new caddie from Spain.....Belen told me she never saw my resume in her email. :taunt: Donnie Green, Jaye Marie's dad and loop...is a crazy funny and a very approachable guy...JMG is super nice and popular with her peers. Kylie is on The Mini Rocket's bag.....Ju Young is slightly bigger and stronger looking than HYP...in real life JYP maybe better looking than HYP.....OMG.....I can't believe I just said that....shoot me please.
I was surprised to see so many strange/unique groups going out to practice....e.g.) Sandra and Inbee??? and others....I thought the gals were very clique who they played with. Seems like Ryann, Lee Anne Pace & HYP were gambling today. I've never seen Lee Anne play....a very good ball striker and quite long .....keeping up with Ryann.
I must spend 1/2 time chatting with other spectators...some have a really good knowledge base...I also chatted with a 'closet' HYP fan...he knew everything about her...he even pointed out her dad and mom to me. Seems like every Korean player has a parent or both parents watching them. Lydia's dad doesn't really have any command of English. There were many requests for autographs and pics for Lydia...she complied...but you could see she is getting tired of it.
A lot a of Korean fans asking for not only autographs but pics too from the Korean pros.
Young girls far outnumbered any young boys in the galleries with their parents.
The reports of Creamer being gaunt due to her wedding are false. Beatriz is quite aloof....walk past requests from 3 young girl to sign their flags..she was only heading to the range.....Bea is certainly no Aza or Belen in personality.
The course is green and rolling hard and fast.
Oh ya.....I noticed something today...if I popped up my collar...The Smiling Buddha could pass off as a fake Korean spectator. :taunt:
I forgot...two Chinese women told Yani they love her....lol.

Phil If you didn't remind me I would have forgotten to watch MHL for a bit. As I thought...she's not really perky....Dad doesn't speak English so I'm surprised how welcoming they were/are to you...considering you like don't have play black hair.
Her current caddie is a guy named Mike...supposedly a long time loop.

A fan told me there were many fans for Monday's pro-am because they wanted autographs from the hockey players. Typically the Monday pro-am is a women's only pro am.

Great report 3. I feel like I was there. I'll never forget watching Tiger walking to the range at Riviera and ignoring a small boy's autograph request. The poor kid started sobbing uncontrollably. Im glad Tiger never won the LA Open.

Tony Thx for the reminder to watch Porna...I forgot about her. This is the 2nd time that I have met Tony and his wife Cindy. They are both very approachable to chat with and share their deep experiences of the 5-6 LPGA events they attend annually. They also remain CWO loyalists....I think this is their 6th consecutive CWO. Tony even went out of his way to get me a player's guide from the media center....kudos. I also got to meet Golfing Grammy too. for the 1st time. Hopefully one day I'll get to meet all the 'regular' posters here.

Im glad Tiger never won the LA Open. Ya and I bet that kid was paid $10 from one of the guys who work sporting events to get autographed pictures signed....only to sell them on eBay. I saw about 6 of these guys working the gals today...they are so easy to spot...IMO...the gals shouldn't sign those pics that they know will be sold on eBay....you never see these guys from Thurs-Sun. I applauded Morgan when she saw one of these guys in 2012 and scribbled her autograph...making the pic unsaleable....Kudos Ms. Pressel. Yes, I know Recari and others owe nothing to the fans....but this is the LPGA and the gals know they need to sell the tour....I really couldn't care less if a pro said no to an adult for an autograph or pic....but these are kids.

HappyFan: You are exactly right. How else could I have spotted her from long distance?! mr3putt: I've always had a youthful visage and I wear Lydia glasses, which gives me a non-threatening appearance. Hanwha's 'B' team, Oh and Nomura, must be buddies...they'll go to the range at the same time. I had thoughts of seeing Klatten at the KPMG, but passed as she was too far away on the opposite 9 holes. Recari looks quite grim during practice. Lydia's daddy has been visible the last few weeks...is Tina there?

HappyFan: ...is Tina there? Do bears live in woods? .....lol. Tina's also like BJ...always on the practice green....but all The Dragon Lady does is hold an umbrella to protect Lydia from the sun.

I know the girls are brought up differently but for me it would get old having my parents around me every day. I wonder if the players are disgusted by NYC's dismissal of her parents or envious?
