She made the cut, so I'm not sure why they are giving her a retirement party right now.
Back in her more successful days, Hae Rym used to put aside a % of each tournament's winnings for charity. I think it might have been as high as 30%. Every single event. Doubt anyone has been more charitable than she has been.
Best of luck to her in her retirement!

Hee Jeong had bogey on par five four, holed out for eagle on par four six gave it back with a double on par four nine. She did have two birdies no bogeys after that so not so bad, baby steps.
Min Byeol Kim had ho-hum round with four birdies and four bogeys.

Ina kind of plodded along but made two birdies on her final two holes to turn in a respectable 68. She's tied fifth. Interesting to see Nike Girl Yul Lyn Lee among the top ten. I think that might be the first time for her. Would be great for her confidence to notch a top ten. Han Sol took a big lead early but hung on for a slight lead over Ju Young Park. Yewon and Rookie of the Year Hyun Jo Yoo are just three back. Could be a great battle tomorrow. Hwaiting!

Major Queen, Grand Prize champion, and 7 time winner Lee Yewon is in the final group three shots back.
You can blame the wind and the rain. You can claim luck or blessed of God, or maybe sold their souls to the devil; or skill...whatever the reason for other's success, Yewon is NOT in a SLUMP.
Yewon's statistics are almost identical to last year in terms of wins, average, top 10 finishes, and fairways hit.
Therefore she is a threat to win every Wednesday evening.
If the leaders get nervous, Yewon could absolutely win tomorrow.
Good luck to them all.
Yewon fighting.

klpga.co.kr/web/main/index3R Highlights By the way because I believe that they Celebrated Hae Rym Kim Retirement after second round. So the other players that missed the cut wouldn't have to hang around for two more days. I didn't think that Yewon Lee was in a slump, it just that she isn't making all those mid-range putts to save par.

Yewon could definitely win tomorrow; I might even call her the favorite. But it's revisionist to say she hasn't been in a slump.
Since the end of May and her last win, she has had four top tens in fifteen starts, only one of which was a top five. For a normal player, that's not bad, but for a player vying to be the best in the league, that's below her usual standard. That doesn't include her missed cut at the Evian.
By contrast, in the first two months of the year she had five top tens, but that included three wins, a second and a fifth in nine events. And the near win at the Japanese Major.
We'll soon see how ready she is to contend again. Good luck to her!

Meanwhile, I'm rooting for Ina to produce a great round to finish this week. Her pattern for a while was to have one great round and several decent ones. But she hasn't had a real smashing round since the first round of the Hana Bank. So my hope is that she produces a great round tomorrow; she's overdue. Hwaiting!

Yewon has no influence on Ina or Hyun-kyung's swing and putts. Yewon's fairways and average are the same as last year. That's not a slump. You're suggesting statistics are unimportant. Without good statistics, you won't win three times or be in the top 10 eleven times. I'm saying Yewon is maintaining herself. Others have had some unexpected, unusual performances Yewon can't control. That isn't Yewon's fault and doesn't indicate a slump.

Yes Yes Yes 😋 She's been in a slump. You've focused on the wrong stats for insight, but the right ones for being a properly one eyed fan. Im sooo close to joining in ha. I'm about to tune in, fingers crossed it'll be to see the Yewon Era-Rebooted.
