My field rating for this event is a very poor 39%, up from 31.5% last year. My breakdown is 42% from the LPGA Priority List and 36% from the Rolex Rankings. Top ten players teeing it up this week: Ruoning Yin (#4) Hannah Green (#7) Celine Boutier (#9) Top ten players skipping the event: Nelly Korda (#1) Lilia Vu (#2) Lydia Ko (#3) Jin Young Ko (#5) Ayaka Furue (#6) Amy Yang (#8) Haeran Ryu (#10)
Danielle Kang and Muni He are the two sponsor invitees that are LPGA members.
Other Stuff: Jasmine Suwannapura's victory at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship was the 5th for a player from Thailand. No other country besides the USA (11), has more than three wins. Jasmine's win was the 5th LPGA tournament to be decided by a playoff this year. Eight more have been decided by just one stroke. Jeeno Thitikul's top ten finish was her 8th of the year in just 13 starts (61.5%). Only Nelly Korda (64.3%) tops that mark. Mao Saigo's fourth place finish in Arkansas has resulted in her increasing her lead in the Louise Suggs Rookie of the Year standings. She now has 749 points. Jin Hee Im is second with 671.
There has been some moves worth reporting by LPGA players in the Rolex Rankings in the last two weeks: Ayaka Furue moves up from 8 to 6. Celine Boutier (winner on the L.E.T. this past weekend) jumps into the top ten 12 to 9. Sei Young Kim bounces up from 54 to 47. Jasmine Suwannapura skyrockets from 110 to 66. Lucy Li (lost playoff in Arkansas) blasts her way up from 116 to 77. Outside the top 100: Pauline Roussin leaps up from 128 to 114 and Lauren Hartlage vaults from 139-118. From way down the rankings, Muni He's top ten finish on the L.E.T. tour last weekend catapults her up 46 spots from 416 to 368.
In the all important Race to the CME Globe, where players are running out of time to finish in the top 100: Nicole Broch Estrup improves her chances of keeping fulltime playing privileges for next season, climbing up from 99 to 95. Jody Ewart Shadoff did the same advancing from 103 to 99. The following players still have work to do but improved their chances: Jennifer Chang 124-108 Robyn Choi 121-112 Yu Liu 137-115 Olivia Cowan 129-116

Is the current LPGA webiste attached to a 9600 dial-up modem? 🐢

The JLPGA's Haruka Morita was invited to this one ... although Getty is using her Chinese name in the caption below ... under either name, she is -2 thru 5 holes. I also noticed that the KLPGA's Shuying Li (+2 thru 5 holes) is here.

Sei young birdied her first 5 holes 👀
Go yealimi! (-3 thru 11). What's up with A Lim? She made 3 birdies in a row and then went bogey bogey TRIPLE. Yikes!

Woo-hoo, MHL is -5 ... no pics (of course). Looks like the whole group with Bailey Two (-3) and Yuban (-5) was ignored.

Chairwoman Mao already threw Ginny into a four-shot hole.

Are these local people? With NYC retired, Chinese fanboys and fangirls need to "virtually kidnap" a replacement. Who are the dogs?

Lily leads all 🇨🇳 golfers which is not too surprising since she has surged to the top of leaderboards early before, but always runs out of steam in the later rounds. As a sponsor invite, she won't receive any points unless she wins it all.

I went to bed after Sei Young completed her first nine and I was thinking she "only" needs to shoot a 31 on her second nine to achieve the 59. Haha, one can dream.

Good news: Sei Young was fantastic, her best round of the year. Bad news: they didn't bother to show her until she was halfway done with her round (the better half, too). And I don't think they showed any of the other Sisters in five hours of coverage (I started skipping around after a while). Not that it mattered, it was a particularly terrible day for them other than Sei Young and Mi Hyang Lee. Come on, rookies, RALLY! Don't hand the ROY to fricking Saigo. Hwaiting!

For all the Yealimi fans on here, she's in a strong position and she looks great in the yellow skirt. Not quite the neon yellow of "Fur-oo yellow..."

And we are missing (the real) Haney right at this moment, tied for 23th are Mary Liu, Yu Liu, and Ruixin Liu. "I'm picking Liu, there's three of them..."

For all the Yealimi fans on here, she's in a strong position and she looks great in the yellow skirt. Not quite the neon yellow of "Fur-oo yellow..." A 31 in the back 9, only 3 back! She gets to play with the big dawgs rnd 3 re Minjee and NASA. Lucy Li is up there too, the Bay Area rivalry may officially be underway.

... but they take her pic when she has a bad day.
Chairwoman Mao shoveled more dirt onto Ginny and Awesome Kim aced #2, but she needs to learn the Japanese way: hold the club in one hand and the ball in the other.
