Of all the Korean golfers that I thought would follow a great round with another great it would be Sei Young Kim. However, she did finish the round with back-to-back brides, like round one when she fished with three straight birdies. Nice rounds by Hye Jin Choi, 68, Jin Hee Im and A Lim Kim 69.

Round 2 was a bit tough to watch. Sei Young played OK, but she left a few birdies out there for sure. As per the usual, she was the only Korean who was shown. I hope she can stay in this zone, it would be fantastic to see her get another win at last! Yealimi Noh in the hunt. It's still hard for me to watch her play using that thingamajig on the putting green, but if anyone could use a good result, it's her. Not much going on for the other Sisters, but hopefully Im, So Mi and Hye Jin can make a run. As long as Psycho doesn't win this week, they could still do something special in Korea (of course, with my luck, I expect she in fact will win this week). Hwaiting!

Chairwoman Mao finished filling in the hole with Ginny in it ... just has to pat down the dirt with her shovel this weekend. ... and speaking of filling holes, here is a man's shot she hit for a birdie, starting at 3:39 ... I saw this live and the video clip below doesn't do it justice ... maybe the LPGA website will show a more complete clip later.

Yealimi was shaky with her accuracy during the middle of her round but managed to save pars each time with yeoman approach shots and putting. She righted the ship and has remained in contention.

I watched the front 9 before crashing out. Saigo had an otherworldly chip in on one hole and was easily playing the best in her group, missed a lot of putts too, her T2G game is sublime. Yealimi hit one tee shot to Mongolia but managed to save par impressively and is now sprung to 4th place!
The best part of the Asian swing is no Pretzel on commentary.

Congrats to Psycho on her win and Rookie of the Year. Just thought I'd get that out of the way early, cause there's no way that those things don't happen. I gave up this week the second she chipped in for birdie after that terrible third shot approach on the par 5. If even those things are going your way, it's your week. What a horrible showing for the Sisters. None of them even in the top 20? Sei Young is doing well, but you can't depend on her, she's too inconsistent these days. I hope they at least have a few Koreans in contention in Korea. Man.

Hye-Jin having a good start to her final round. Currently a top ten and could easily make top five if she keeps it up...

YuJin and Hye Jin both 4 under so far tied for low of the day. It'll be great if Yealimi can finish top 3, she will have a commanding lead (with Lucy) in the Solheim standings,

Now Sei Young putting on a move... "keep going, just keep going..."
I'm keeping track of the Buick Shanghai on lpga.com while I watch the final live college football game of Saturday, between K-State and Colorado. Go Wildcats! I have supported K-State ever since the BWW Bowl about a decade ago where they destroyed the Wolverines...
Go Sei Young, Angel, Hye-Jin, and Auston! Go Sisters!

At this moment, Hye-Jin is the clubhouse leader, minus-10 for the day, followed by Angel Yin, 2nd place in the clubhouse, minus-8 on the day. We all know that Hye-Jin's not going to win, but still a solid accomplishment and possibly a top five...

Congrats to Ronnie Yin, winner of the 2024 Buick LPGA Shanghai, a home country win, and her 4th career LPGA win, by 6 strokes!
Congrats also to Sei Young Kim, 2nd place finish at minus-19, and Hye-Jin Choi, who moved up 21 places to finish tied for 5th with a minus-10 final round.
See you all here, following the BMW next weekend in ROK. Home country advantage for the Sisters!

I went to bed right after Ronnie drained the birdie at 11 to get to -20 and take a two-shot lead. She took off from there. Congratulations to her.

Yealimi hit some nice iron shots, nearly holed out for eagle once. Now 47 and safe in CME.
