Evian starter at 0:08: "From the Republic of Korea, HOJO KIM!"
... and that was a woman starter. It was a guy at the AIGWO who first announced "HoJo" ... it's settled, she should legally change her name.
Are there any supermarkets left that carry HoJo clam strips? Talk about a loss to mankind. In college at Madison, I was in a dorm about two blocks from a Howard Johnson's. Friday night it was all you can eat clam strips. It's the only thing I liked about Wisconsin.

In college at Madison, I was in a dorm about two blocks from a Howard Johnson's. Friday night it was all you can eat clam strips. It's the only thing I liked about Wisconsin. I lived in Wisconsin for three years, about 35 years ago. It was my first job out of grad school. The job had its issues but I still go back to Wisconsin occasionally to visit Milwaukee and Madison and very occasionally other rural places in the state. Some great things about Wisconsin:
Tavern or bar on almost every corner in the cities Supper club on almost every rural intersection in the country If a person is into dairy products, there must have been 15 or 20 different brands of butter in the grocery stores or supermarkets Cheese... milk... ice cream... all those "moo-ee" things Friday fish fries, lake fish like perch, trout, walleye, and whitefish, not to be confused with the ocean fish on the coasts... no, "ocean perch" is not close to lake perch, what is it? Menhaden or something? I'm not dissing all ocean fish, a lot of it is good, but it's different from the lake fish.

Ji Young Ko and the Pro-am. Her two partners are So Yeon Kang and Suri Park. I don't know who these people are, but Kang has 1.6 million Instagram followers and is listed as a Netflix actress. Suri seems to be a fashionista of some kind. Anyways, they were lucky to get to play with Jin Young and be dazzled! https://www.instagram.com/p/C9Qt7vONy8y

No, Carlota! Say it isn't so! I was counting on you to deck those guys at the trophy ceremony... doesn't look like it will be this year...
Can't even say that Pano is circling the drain, she's already on the way down... better luck in Scotland maybe like last year?
On the positive side, "Anna Lynn" off to a good start in round 2, putting four sisters in the top ten at the moment... we can dream and maybe I will as 4:00 am EDT is bedtime even for this night owl...

We have a Furoo Yellow alert today ... she had to open with three birdies before GC got around to showing her.
******
Eugenia just tapped in for 63.
*****
Nice 69 on Friday for Bronte Law (zero CME points), but she'll probably get kicked to the curb tonight.

The early starter pics are coming in now ...
MHL was interviewed after Round Two ... I don't see a video posted (or not posted yet), but here's the transcript:
Q. Mi Hyang, three shots better than yesterday. You tied at the top of the leaderboard as it stands. How did the conditions prepare this morning to yesterday afternoon?
MI HYANG LEE: I think of course it's way more softer because we had a little rain this morning, but I'm glad we finished with the sunny weather because supposed to really heavy rain and thunder. So I just glad to finish in time 18 holes.
And also, I think my putt was more like dropped and my driver was like save six fairways only. I think my iron shot was more better today, so I made more chance to make the putt. Yeah.
Q. You've played in this championship in previous years. You obviously like it here. What is it that really suits your eye?
MI HYANG LEE: Here is my favorite golf course and favorite tournament as well. I have really lots of good memory with Evian Championship.
So I always love to back here to play, and also -- but I have just two more days left so just try do my best. I know I have experience playing final group on final round. So hopefully that experience help me.
Q. 7-under overall total. Welcome back to the Amundi Evian Championship. What was the game plan heading into today?
MI HYANG LEE: Just I thought will be heavy rain today and then like wet conditions the golf course, so just keep fairway first then I can go more aggressive from the fairway to the pin because like green going to be so soft.
But sun is coming and then I like pretty much same condition as yesterday, so I just tried to same as yesterday, and I think my iron was more better today so I had more chance to close to the putt.
So I think that's different.
Q. Walk me through some of the highlights out there. What birdies stick out to you the most and also that eagle that you had as well?
MI HYANG LEE: I know. So No. 6 was like pin -- I mean, today pin location was I thought really hard, so 6 was -- I was lucky. I mean, just made the green right of the pin and then I just make the birdie. Then like turn the moment, started to make the birdie as well.
And also it was great like chip-in eagle No. 9; it was almost 30 yards. I try like bump in a little bit but it was made it.
And No. 10 was as well. I hit the rough at the left and just landed before the green, bounced up, three feet, so it was lucky today.
Q. You talked about on TV how this is one of your favorite courses to play. Why is it one of your favorite?
MI HYANG LEE: So back to 2013 it was almost like my rookie year, so I was I think my ranked was 107, 108, but so they started major with Evian maybe 2013, so they increase for the more -- the player can play this tournament, so I was last get in, and I made tie 16 or 17, so I made top 100, so don't need any Q-School, Q-Series.
So it was good start for my memory with Evian, and also like 2015, 2016, I just play with Lydia when she won here. Yeah, was my just great experience like playing the last group, final round.
So it was -- I mean, I don't know why, but like really like view is great, and then hotel is great, everyone, like volunteers is great, and everyone is so kind of us, too. This is my favorite golf tournament, yeah.
Q. We've talked a couple times this year. I know the place you were in when fighting through your injuries. To show what you've been able to show over the last two days here at a major championship, what does it say about the work you've been putting in over the last couple months to produce what you've done this season?
MI HYANG LEE: So was good start season for me, but I think after that, I tried to think try to do something, that's why a little more stress on the golf course as well.
But I took a little break last week and I went Italy and Spain with my dad. It was first time ever, so no practice at all. It was really refresh to me.
So then this week as I tried to like shot by shot one at a time, so that worked, yeah.
Q. Where do you in Spain and Italy?
MI HYANG LEE: Madrid and Barcelona and Rome. Yeah, it was beautiful.
Q. We don't necessarily get time to do that a lot. A lot of the time we're playing week after week after week.
MI HYANG LEE: Uh-huh.
Q. What does a refresh like that do for you knowing that there is a busy summer ahead?
MI HYANG LEE: So actually, this is major tournament, like really no -- I mean, it's really I think maybe someone says a little too stupid no practice before the major.
But my dad, he wants to give me the little more refresh time. He says like it's too much going on before this, so he said like, don't be worried about your practice. Just trust yourself and maybe just good time to traveling to Europe.
We just don't have any time before Evian because we always play the Dow, right? So was glad to like (indiscernible.)
Actually, he's getting old as well, so it's great timing to traveling with him. So it was great memory to me.
Q. What do you hope to build off after a nice Friday like you saw today?
MI HYANG LEE: Hopefully more just dropped putt. I miss a lot of good birdie chance as well. And then driver, hopefully more fairways as well. Simple. Same. I don't want to try anything.
Just hopefully same as today.

They just blew the horn with five minutes left in the GC broadcast ... lightning sighted over Lake Geneva.
********
I assume Yuna took an unplayable here (hole unknown) ... can't see how she would get free relief here ... sitting pretty at -4 with nine holes remaining.

Yep, the hooter has sounded. Amy and Nelly just about to tee off on 15. My wife’s weather satellite is looking very colourful. No rain yet, but quite a few rumbles of thunder

We have a Furoo Yellow alert today ... she had to open with three birdies before GC got around to showing her. Aye-uh-KEEEEEE! Hope that the weather delay doesn't stop her momentum...
Great to see that nearly half of the top fifteen on the leaderboard are SISTERS!

Most of the morning Korean golfers played great. Hae Ran Ryu moved into a tie for second place with minus four round so far. Yu Jin Seung great round seven birdies eagle and one bogey. Mi Hyang Lee had four birdies an eagle and one bogey. Narin An five birdies one bogeys. Jin Young Ko had a mixed bag seven birdies and three bogeys.
Big surprise was Yewon Lee seventy-eight score. She hasn't played that great lately on the KLPGA, still did not expect this.
Expected was A Lim having a bad two days, her game just doesn't fit this course. However, she can have days where she dials it back and score on these type courses.
