It's a great result for Amy and also Jin Young in getting back to form. I wonder if such a popular victory among the sisterhood will inspire other sisters on for the rest of the season. Here's hoping!

It's a great result for Amy and also Jin Young in getting back to form. I wonder if such a popular victory among the sisterhood will inspire other sisters on for the rest of the season. Here's hoping! You could hear the collective Korean golf sisterhood exhale in relief once she made that final putt. At last, no more questions about why the Koreans haven't won (at least for a few months, anyways). They can now just go out and play. Will it inspire more success? You never know, but in the past there do tend to be trends, and perhaps this will start a new positive one.

Amy is unique among the Koreans. Most of the best players over time have tended to peak before age 25; you occasionally get one who does her best in her latter twenties. But by the time they reach their mid-thirties, they are packing it in mentally, a shadow of their former selves.
Not Amy. Without question, she has been at the peak of her game the past twelve months, with her two biggest wins. Will she be able to continue this form, or will she return to the struggles she was having before this week? Hard to say, but at the least I'm betting she will be highly motivated the next time she practices.

By the way, Amy has risen to fifth in the world rankings, and Jin Young to third! The first time in ages that there were two Sisters in the top five. The good news keeps coming. Check out my Rolex thread for more details.

Congratulations future Olympian!
A little shout out to Ashleigh Buhai, of all people. I saw her get a sand save on Friday and she was absolutely gimping. I thought she would withdraw for sure before Saturday's round. But she shot 75-75. Not too shabby on this course on one leg. $30k was worth the pain and suffering.

She spent over a decade on the tour without a lot of success but never gave up and finally found redemption in the AIG in 2022 and the Shoprite in 2023. She's also a future Olympian, along with her countrywoman Paula Reto. Obviously, the competition for Olympic slots in RSA is not the same as it is in USA or ROK or Japan... but Ashleigh will be there!
