Minbyeol Kim Hyosong Lee(a) Yeah, Lee Won
They'll be up against the JLPGA best, plus Furoo, Katsu, Yuna and the current Japan am champ Saori Iijima. Yuri Yoshida will not defend her title ... has some important business at Soule Park today.

The Korean guests are: KLPGA player of the Year Yewon Lee KLPGA Rookie of the Year Min Byeol Kim Korea Women's Amateur champ Hyo Song Lee And Su Ji... not sure why she's there.
But the other three were probably specifically invited for what they won last season.

How awesome it would be for Yewon to win this...not likely...definitely possible.
HappyFan if Minbyeol wins this. LOL
Hopefully the Korean players finish in the top 10 for sure.

Min Byeol would make me happiest of course, but I would love to see all four do well. Imagine if Hyo Song Lee gets into contention. What is the youngest player who ever won a Japanese Major? She's 15 or 16.

Tee times tomorrow? VPN to Japan offer any broadcasting? How reliable are those streaming links?
I have a whole fan club eager for information.
Edit: Supposedly, SpoTV is broadcasting it some each day in Korea.

The AQ Stream links I posted earlier are usually pretty good for the JLPGA.

I'm surprised that the shutterbugs of my usual JLPGA sources didn't take notice of Three Amigos this year during the practice/pro-am days ... there were a few pics last year, but I can't find any this year.
Ai and Yuna
Furoo brought these two putters, plus a Toulon, in order to figure out the best one for Ibaraki.
Sakura Koiwai
Yuri Fudoh's magic wand for this week
Mr. Shimuzu with Rio Takeda again ... I don't think he's had a real steady since Bo Mee Lee.

Everyone in the morning wave has started. Sharon, who is two years older than "very old" Jung Min Lee, leads by one shot at -3 thru 10 holes.
Minbyeol Kim is in the storm cellar at +5 thru 8 holes.
Yeah, Lee Won is +1 thru 7 holes ... is this her KLPGA loop or did she hire a local?

Yewon had a great round! 3 under 69 and tied for the lead at the moment. Su Ji is doing OK; with a few holes to go she is at 1 over.
Min Byeol. Oy. Wild day today. She quickly fell to 5 over, made three straight birdies, then made three more bogies and ended up at 5 over for the day. She has some work to do to make the cut. Well, it's all good experience for her!
Hyo Song is in the afternoon wave, so let's see how she does.
Hwaiting!

How about that first round? 😏
We have no idea what is going to happen this afternoon and tomorrow, but for round 1, the Korean Queen did great.

They didn't want another bloodbath this year ... rough reduced from 70 mm to a groomed 60 mm where you could still see the ball ... with calm winds, they expect the winner to be at 10-under. Nevertheless, some past multi-winners got killed today: Mi Jeong Jeon, Teresa Lu, Saki Nagamine, Sakura Koiwai and Shoko Sasaki.
Su Ji Kim (E)
Hina (The Face) Arakaki (-3) ... has six trunk slams in nine starts coming into this one.
Back of the envelope: A win by The Shinster (-1) will send her to #15 on Rolex.
The most recent JLPGA rookies who are not playing this week are doing (mandatory) volunteer work ... but, they're loving it, of course.
