Hae Ran stepping up today! Hae Ran, the big new Ryu! It would be great to see her get her 2nd career win and her 1st major...
It would be amazing to see one Ryu retire and another one step in to take her mantle up! Hey, I can dream, right?  This would also keep up the crucial tradition of the Korean winner at this event being dissed because she messes up something the GIC wants to have happen. See also: So Yeon won when Thompson had penalty, Sun Young Yoo won when more popular Korean missed one foot putt, and Mirim Lee won because of the "wall" behind the green, which only became an issue when their favorite didn't win. I can't recall what the objections were when Inbee and Jin Young won, but I'm sure there was something.  |

Mirim was magical that final round! 3 chip ins off the green I remember. Wall or no wall she made an eagle! Nelly and Brooke had their chances to win in regulation and she earned it in the playoff too.

Uh oh, Jin Hee Im is washing her feet in Korda Two's victory punch bowl, just made clutch par putt to stay one off the lead ... the GIC must be doing extra unplanned homework to find out who the heck she is ... this site might get a few more hits as a result.

So, LEXI(TM) rolls in a long bomb for birdie ... as if that makes any difference this week ... as I write this, they're showing another putt of hers! (missed) .... meanwhile, I assume the TV Wowow viewers are seeing some real drama as Shibuno Fever has fallen one shot under the cut line to +3 ... only two holes left, but the next one is a par-5, so she has a chance.

To indirectly answer Tom Abbott's question, The Club at Nine Bridges (Jeju Island) has bent greens (per the top-100 golf course site) ... I assume Jeju-native Im has played it at least once ... don't know about the KLPGA venues that are used there.

Battleship S.S Bang getting some TV coverage, if it weren't for some boo boos yesterday she'd be in the mix too! She IS in the mix. BANG! ZOOM! Eagle on 8, after hitting a second shot with an iron. Even Pressel had some positive words to say about her, complimenting her swing. [EDIT]: She shot a 65 today! Holy crap. And I thought Hae Ran was impressive, this is off the charts. A 19-year-old, folks. We could have been watching her instead of Lexi hacking her way around the course. Or, I don't know, maybe So Yeon hacking HER way around the course, but for the last time. Still, loved the final green hugs. Bummed that Jin Young wasn't able to squeeze into the cut line. She was always taking a risk not having a warm up event before the Major. |

Also, shut up Tom. Jin Hee won four times last year. This is an elite KLPGA star. Just because she had to get used to being on tour and didn't play super great at first; well, it's her first time ever in the States playing as a pro. For reference: Jin Hee Im profileThitikul, Hae Ran and Jin Hee -- that's a nice murderer's row that I hope makes Nelly's life really tough tomorrow. Remember: all the pressure is on Korda to keep this going. Anything you gals achieve is a bonus. Go out and have fun and let her sweat as Thitikul dumps GIR after GIR on her head, and Im putt after putt. And yay Shin Sil Bang! And Rocket made the cut! Isn't she older than Pressel? The biggest bummer besides JY Ko today was Yu Jin imploding on the back nine. She looked good to get into the weekend, then plotz.
