In case it wasn't clear, Shin Sil Bang has definitely committed to this event; she hopped on the plane right after the Mediheal finished.
I like her and she has a ton of potential. Hope she can get a good finish to encourage her to keep trying in the future. But it feels like she needs a bit more experience playing over here before she's a serious threat to win. We'll see.
The other vaguely intriguing development is the return of Jin Young Ko. Odds are she won't do much. But she has in the past gone from playing less than her best to being unbeatable really quickly, and she certainly will be more rested than her opponents. If we see that 16+ GIR Jin Young in the first round I might get excited.

I hope A Lim wins. She is my favorite non ABK sister. Hits it a mile and is one of a kind with her showmanship on the course. I like A Lim Kim also and I am waiting for her to break out with her second win on the LPGA Tour. She hasn't shown as much Showmanship on LPGA as she showed on the KLPGA. I especially liked the one when she would put her hand across her chest give a little bow and smile. Some of the KLPGA golfers now just barely touch the bill of their cap to acknowledge the fans or do nothing. Right now Min Ji Park is the A Lim Kim on KLPGA to acknowledge the Fans Yes she was putting on a show for the fans at the 2022 major she won on KLPGA though I remember that tournament more for Hyo Joo playing the worst golf I've ever seen her play on the back 9!

It seems this new track will favor the big hitters, Galitsky performed well here last year and she is no where near as polished as SS Battleship (I didn't see a nickname for her, just throwing it out there 😁)

Imagine if JYK went to a real doctor instead of these voodoo knuckleheads.

Two of the vacancies will be reserved for American amateurs ... and there is still one sponsor invite vacancy. J. Song is the first reserve ... give her a spot ... she's running out of time to win anywhere.

On the tournament entries page, the spot under Angela Stanford is blank but listed as an entry.
Jasmine Koo is now in the field 💪

J Song and AP will win the Dow this year...though I'm worried the field will be stronger since it's not a week directly before the Evian... Maybe J Song better page Corpuz or Amy instead 😭

Weird, the article you linked claimed that Bang is not thinking about going to Q-Series this year. Every other recent article I've read said the opposite. I wonder if she changed her mind or if the writer is just wrong?

My field rating this week is a super high 88% (up from 85% last yeear). This tournament regularly has the highest field rating of the year! In fact, this is the highest field rating of any tournament since the 2019 ANA Inspiration (the previous title of this tournament) in 2019 when my rating was 89%. My breakdown is 92% from the LPGA Priority List and 84% from the Rolex Rankings. Every single player in the top 30 of this week's Rolex Rankings will be teeing it up. The field stregnth was helped out by non-LPGA players: Akie Iwai **Jin Hee Im Jiyai Shin Miyu Yamashita Shinsil Bang All the above players are highly ranked players who are big stars on other tours. ** Jin Hee Im is actually a rookie on the LPGA Tour this year, but has earned her way into this event because of her high ranking.
Other Stuff: Brooke Henderson and Nelly Korda each registered their fourth top ten of the year (in Nelly's case four first place finishes), joining Ayaka Furue, and Sarah Schmelzel for most on tour. Nelly Korda's victory was the 5th for the USA this year, no other country has more than one.
There were some moves worth reporting in the Rolex Rankings by LPGA players since the end of the last tournament: Nelly Korda stays on top for a fourth consecutive week, and 41st week overall. That is the most weeks in that position of any American player in the history of the rankings. She now has a very large lead and it doesn't figure she will be caught anytime soon. To put this in proper perspective, and give credit where it is due, Jin Young Ko holds the record with 163 weeks on top of the Rolex Rankings! Hannah Green moves up from 19-16. Rose Zhang is a beat away from joining the top 20 (as she fights for an Olympic spot) moving from 23-21. She will need to finish in the top fifteen and be one of the top four USA players. Leona Maguire jumps from 30-23. Sei Young Kim bounces up from 39-34. Minami Katsui leaps from 90-79. Narin An enters the top 100, and into my field rating, leaping from 107-81. Yu liu falls out of the top 100 this week. Outside the top 100, Moriya Jutanugarn vaults from 123-105.

I will miss her too. One of the first tournaments I watched was her US Open triumph over the Supermodel of the fairways.

I will miss her too. One of the first tournaments I watched was her US Open triumph over the Supermodel of the fairways. We will all miss her. I was at that tournament in colorado in 2011. I broke my foot on Sunday, but limped around the course for the playoff she won on Monday.
