Yeah, The Semi-Retiree fooled me ... at least for this weekend, she won't have to play her guitar for the public out on the sidewalk.
*************
Happy #31 today to MHL ... who gets to celebrate with Angela Stanford for 4+ hours.
*************
Currently #77 on Rolex, Spieth YJS is only two spots away from clinching her USWO berth ... she'll have another chance if she doesn't do it this week. At #81, MHL might need more time to clinch her spot.

Pretty much everyone I was interested in missed the cut this week. That's not going to help Amy's chances to make the Olympics. Hye Jin almost never misses cuts, and now she's missed two straight. Hae Ran, Six, In Gee and So Mi all going home early. At least several of them had good second rounds, but not enough to make this ridiculous cut of 5 under.
Basically, the scoring is insane. I think there were something like five or six shooting 64 or better in the first round. The second round leader shot a 61 in round 2.
Ah well, at least there are a couple Sisters in the top ten somewhere near the lead. Hyo Joo two back, and one rookie, Jin Hee Im, four back. Glad to see Inky and Eugene make the cut as well. Now we just have to figure out what's wrong with So Mi and we can start having some fun with the rookies this year.
Hwaiting!

Great 64 by Mi Hyang Lee today. OK, maybe on this course a 64 is not as great as it would be on others, but still her round vaulted her up to 13 under and a shot out of the lead (for now).

Great clean score card by Mi Hyang Lee to move up to the leaderboard. Just shows how important it is to make the cut. Not sure how Mi Hyang Lee is going to do tomorrow but it will be so much better than missing the cut.
One of the many things that So Yeon was good at was getting a late birdie to make the cut. I remember I was following So Yeon Ryu in twenty eighteen after her win at ANA in twenty seventeen. I was with her mom, sister, aunt and others, when she needed a birded on eighteen to make the cut. Of course, the great So Yeon made birdie and there were high fives all around. Ok sorry about the So Yeon story but she will never be forgotten by me.

I always think that these players should adjust to different courses, they are proffessionals. But this course is a joke...if Mr3putt was still here he would call in a goat track. Half the people that post on here can probably break par (a slight exaggeration). If you par 2 consecutive holes, you drop five spots. Give me last week's 9 under par winning score anytime.

Agreed, if you can't get at least a minus-6 on the round, you're not plugged in. Who plugged in MHL? Who plugged in Jennifer Kupcho? Who plugged in Angela Stanford? Lately I see more of her in the broadcast booth than on the course... Who plugged in, no, make that who IS Hira Naveed?

I tuned in at 7 PM EST ... this is great, lots of lousy full shots and numerous missed putts ... MHL still within striking distance. Oh, and she won't get stuck with Ciganda tomorrow. I'd post a pic of her from this event, but none exist. The Media - Press Site section of the LPGA website has a quickie video interview of her today.
Dr. Noh today ... three starts, three checks earned ... she also started three-for-three in 2023, before the roof caved in.

The Birthday Girl
The Cap Signing Queen. Apparently, the LPGA has determined that only Korean-speaking fans care about her.

Maybe this will finally be the week... Hyo Joo, MHL, "Anna Lynn" 안나린, Sei Young... Just keep believing!

Round 3 Great day for Mi Hyang. Happy birthday! Since the wind got worse later, she's actually in this thing, provided she can follow up the 64 with another good round. Na Rin An, Sei Young Kim and Hyo Joo all hung in there and have a shot, with Hyo Joo still tied for the lead despite making no birdies after the fourth hole. Boy, I would love to see one of the Sisters get this win, especially if the course plays a little tougher like it did today. But I'm having a crisis of confidence; we haven't seen a lot of great Sundays from the Koreans lately. But sooner or later one of them is going to have a great final round, right? Fingers crossed. Hwaiting!
