Looking forward to watching a lot of another Asian tournament in 'night owl' mode which usually works for me. Actually my life has been put into craziness mode until March 18 so the night tournaments help me as I'll be doing a lot of traveling and being busy during the normal daytime USA tournament hours.
My predictions (guesses) for the featured groups on Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Old Ko, Minjee, and Patty T in the 10:20 am group. Or maybe Boutier, Brooke, and Jin Young in the 10:08 group. Would be great to see Jin Young get a three-peat... Nasa, Danielle, and Leona at 9:44 are another possibility.
Go sisters! And my favorite Americans, beautiful Lilia Vu and Jen Kupcho...

Were they planning on maybe showing In Gee at some point? She's been on the leaderboard all day and I think they showed her once. Meanwhile we saw every fricking shot by Minjee, Lydia and Tavatanakit, and none of them are playing as well as In Gee. Sigh.
Hopefully she can keep it up and get into the hunt on the weekend. Hwaiting!

Pano seems dead in the water so far while CW contends for the lead and Rose is taking classes. That's the 'kids report.' Beautiful Lilia Vu! And congrats to Sarah Schmelzel on taking the 1st round lead.

Hwaiting! Yes, HF, I would have liked to see more of In Gee among the leaders too. But I predicted this... Looking forward to watching a lot of another Asian tournament in 'night owl' mode which usually works for me. We never see Kupcho any more. "They will never forget you till somebody new comes along..." But Lilia is world #1 and she now has a major sponsor so we see her all the time. "Lilia Vu, I love you..." And I will continue to support you, Lilia, when somebody new comes along and they dump you on the scrap heap... Hope it doesn't happen for a long time...

As In Gee's no.1 UK fan I'm so pleased to see her in contention. A Lilia, In Gee, Andrea Lee threesome surely will make great TV viewing tomorrow (he hopes!)

Round 1 Great opening salvo by In Gee Chun and Hye Jin Choi, who were together in one of the first groups. They didn't get much TV coverage despite being on the leaderboard all day, alas. In Gee didn't hit it very far, but had four birdies and 2 bogies for a 70, two back. She'll be in the penultimate group on Friday. Hye Jin had three birdies and two bogies, although one of the bogies was late. 12 GIR and 263 yards for a decent stat line. In Gee: https://www.instagram.com/p/C37lYXBryE- Hyo Joo is also lurking at 2 under. She's a former champ, so keep an eye on her. Current champ Jin Young Ko had a decent 71 start. She also hit 12 greens and had 29 putts, a common theme. Jin Young has a tendency to start slowly and gain speed, so her main goal today was to get on the leaderboard. She did that (t-10th), so now it's time to see if she can move up the ranks. https://www.instagram.com/p/C37V8yvvRen Others at 1 under: Jenny Shin and Amy Yang. But Jiyai Shin only managed a 74. I'll admit I'm surprised that Jiyai hasn't come out playing better so far this season. She really needs good finishes at these kinds of events if she wants any chance of making the Olympic team. A Lim Kim (+3) and Sei Young Kim (+5) both struggled; especially surprising to see Sei Young do that given her form last week. By the way, where is Six? Haven't seen her yet this year. She played well here two years ago, but I guess she didn't qualify this time. Sisters hwaiting!
