This one runs Feb. 29 - March 3.
The five sponsor invitees are set: a local qualifying amateur, Dumbo, Muni, Miranda Wang and Ting Ting. I didn't know Wang was part of that hotshot Duke team that won the NCAAs a few years ago.
An additional spot is open for the Honda winner ... let's hope that person is already in this field, because MHL is the first alternate and would fill that spot (logically).

Who is Ting Ting? I only know Ting Tang from Tooting - a character on Little Britain now long consigned to the non PC bin of comedy.

Known as Yuting Seki in Japan only (below) ... everywhere else, she is known as Yuting Shi.

How long will it be until they show Creamer's 75 foot putt? My guess is within the first hour of coverage.
Meanwhile, will they relive the true biggest moment in this event: the year when Ha Na Jang did her victory dance while In Gee lay in the hospital recovering from the suitcase Jang's dad dropped on her?

Nichols implies that this (phony) 'Asian Major' has lost its luster ... meanwhile, she is covering the Capital One Giggle Match, as if it were important.

Why does this tournament have such a small field? Surely Singapore has all the facilities to manage a 144 strong field

My field rating for this event is a mediocre 65%, significantly down from 74 % from last year. My breakdown is 72% from the LPGA Priority List and 58% from the Rolex Rankings. The field will be led by top ten players: Lilia Vu -1 Celine Boutier -3 Ruoning Yin -4 Minjee Lee -5 Jin Young Ko -6 Lydia Ko -7 Hyo-Joo Kim -9 Xiyu Lin -10 Top Ten players skipping the event this week: Nelly Korda -2 Charley Hull -8 Other key players not teeing it up this week include: Atthaya Thitikul Megan Khang Angel Yin Georgia Hall Ashleigh Buhai Lexi Thompson Rose Zhang
Other notes: Brooke Henderson is the only LPGA player to finish in the top twenty in each of the first three tournaments.
There was some significant movement in the Rolex Rankings this week: Patty Tavakanakit made the most important move this week rising from 43 to 26. Sei Young Kim jumps from 60 to 42 Albane Valenzuela skyrockets from 91 to 67 Vontaveelap Natthakritta leaps from 135 to 94 Outside the top 100: Jaravee Boonchant vaults from 199 to 165 There were also some big moves by LPGA members who played on the L.E.T. this past weekend, and had top three finishes at the Lalla Meryem Cup: Bronte Law (winner) catapults from 218 to 136 Pauline Roussin (runner-up) surges from 163 to 132 Maria Fassi (3rd place) Springs up from 158 to 138

Practice:
The New Ko
Saso gets some work on her putters ... and they'll still end up in the garage.
Meaw ... try not to drop it.

Look at the event title: "Women's World Championship" ... you can't keep the riffraff out with a 144 field. The first two years had 78 players ... after that, they've varied between 63 and 69 players.

Another boring interview by Minjee on Tuesday, but this time it wasn't her fault ... no one asked her a question about tossing her whole bag in the off-season and going with 14 clubs and a ball from Callaway this season ... even though she has been a walking ATM during her first nine seasons ... never worse than 16th on the money list.
*********
Practice for The Shinster ... this drive to the Olympics via the LPGA might backfire ... she went backwards in points after a lousy T-60 in the KSA against a field with LET players ... and this week will be against a tougher field. Roughly speaking, her Rolex average points would go up with 4th place or better finishes on the JLPGA ... she got 18.5 points for winning Daikin Orchid last year.
