Na Rin An started with two birdies and finished with two birdies on last four holes to just miss by one. Jiwon Jeong had four birdies but too many bogeys, six to miss by one. Jin Hee Im, plus six was the only one to have a tough two days.

This is the most underrated course on Tour. I'm surprised so many players would rather be hitting balls into nylon nets.

https://www.instagram.com/p/C2Nktf3PApl Great to see that Milia Nam made the cut with minus three today for minus two starting her Rookie Season. The 2023 NCAA Championship simi-Final, she won the Anchor match against Rose Zhang to put USC into the Final. Also to send Stanford home!!!!! USC lost to the Veteran Golf Team from Wake Forest in the Final. Gabriella Ruffels had a rough two days on the putting greens. She only missed five combined greens the two days, but had thirty-six and thirty-seven putts. She is a good driver of the ball and a great mid iron ball striker but has always been a below average putter.

Round 2 Solid day for the Sisters to set up some weekend runs. Congrats to the four rookies in their first events! So Mi Lee was fantastic today; great tee-to-green and made some good putts. She ended up two shots behind Korda on her home course, in solo second. Hopefully she'll get some great attention tomorrow and Sunday. Let the winds blow for the "Wind Queen" (no kidding, I found an article calling her that). Min Ji Kang might be the biggest surprise, tied 6th after two rounds. She has one big advantage over the KLPGA rookies: she has played a lot more on American courses. It was nice to see Sei Young hang in today. She was nowhere near as good as yesterday. but she chipped in a long shot on a par 5 for eagle, and that allowed her to stay in the hunt. Yu Jin had two solid days to make her first cut, albeit eight back at 2 under. Jin Hee Im was never able to get going and missed her first cut, but since she has played almost never in the West, and has a history of picking things up quickly, expect that she will get acclimated in the next few months, and then watch out! I did watch some of the broadcast. At one point, they had showed every person on the first page of the leaderboard... except, well, you know... So Mi. As I say, hope that gets rectified tomorrow. Nice to see In Gee and A Lim make the cut. Mi Hyang and Hye Jin are still close enough at 3 under to have a shot at a top five. Sisters Hwaiting! If I counted correctly, ten of sixteen sisters made the cut, a good start to 2024 in the first full field event.
What's impressive to me about So Mi and Min Ji is that their position at the top of the leaderboard is not a fluke... look at the golfers around them, the top eight after the first two rounds.
Nelly, Janet (arguably the best veteran on the tour to have never won), Lydia, Fur-oo, Sei Young, and the only less than established golfer in the list is Lucy Li. Maybe Lucy will have some success to start 2024 too?
I won't get to watch a lot of the action Saturday or Sunday, traveling with my wife to celebrate her upcoming birthday. Wishing for a lot of success for all the sisters!

Glad to see her having a good start to her rookie season. Hope that Gaby can have some success as the year goes on.
Since I'm a midwesterner, I'm not going to get into the middle of the USC vs UCLA vs Stanford vs Cal rivalries. I respect all those iconic institutions and especially USC and UCLA which are joining the first COAST TO COAST conference, the eighteen team Big Ten. From NYC metro area (Rutgers) to LA metro area, USC and UCLA. I especially support UCLA's beautiful Lilia Vu, but nothing against Malia Nam or any of the other successful USC golfers. I have to say that I also support Wake Forest's Jen Kupcho.
As strange as it may seem, we midwesterners have little emotional investment in USC vs UCLA or Oregon vs Washington. But I bet that you Californians and west coasters could care less about Michigan (cheaters and worst) vs Michigan State, or Indiana vs Purdue, or interstate rivalries like Michigan vs Ohio State, or Wisconsin vs Minnesota vs Iowa vs Nebraska... We don't have as many successful golfers over here other than MSU which has had a South American connection for several years. The weather here is not optimal for successful golfing.
Go sisters, go USC and UCLA golfers, especially Lilia!

How the heck did Auston Kim shoot a 64? Almost everyone is struggling with the conditions today. She's vaulted up to a tie for second with So Mi, who hasn't started her round yet.

Looks like a tough day for So Mi and Minji. Hopefully they will learn from the experience. As with all top sports those at the top have the mindset to handle the pressure. One of Nelly or Lydia will win

Nelly leads by 4 going into the final day. Weather meant to be getting worse so maybe not a done deal but close to it.

Tough day for So Mi Lee and some of the other Korean golfer. So Mi still has a chance for top ten. So Mi Lee thirty five putts hurt her score. Only three under par today Mi Hyang Lee -1. Sei Young Kim sort of rescued her round with birdie, birdie finish, ditto A Lim Kim with birdie, eagle finish.
I honest don't believe how they disrespected So Mi Lee on eighteen. She had a bad round but was still in the last group at three under par. Not only did just show Nelly Korda approach shot and not So Mi. She must have hit her approach closer than Nelly Korda. Because after Nelly Korda putted out, they kept the camera on her and ignored So Mi.

Round 3 This one's over; ah well, I was having a good time for two rounds at least. Better luck next tournament! Terrible day for the Korean rookies. None of them played well, even So Mi, who I don't think made an appearance on the broadcast. As I said before, I'm not really too concerned about these early season events. I just want the Sisters to acclimate and play as well as they can, hoping we will see something special in a few months time. Weirdly, the two best rounds for Sisters were turned in by unheralded Korean American Auston Kim (64) and Q-Series winner Robyn Choi (who is not a rookie - 66). Both will be in the penultimate group with Lydia. I read an interview with Yu Jin Sung where she said her goal is to make the top 15 in the world rankings and thus the Korean Olympic team (!!!). She has a lot of work to do if she's going to achieve that. Today was not so good for her. So Mi will brush herself off and hopefully rebound into a top ten tomorrow. The conditions still favor her kind of game. Sei Young Kim is having a good week but there's no way in the world she's going to make up five shots on Korda on her home course. Hopefully she can start her year with a top ten at least. Hwaiting!

Auston Kim interview yesterday was a surprise. At first I was like, Get a load of this meek little college pipsqueak. But then out comes this deep booming broadcast voice. Articulate too. She could take Morgan Pressel's job someday.
