Was practicing today at my local (Soule Park, Ojai CA) when Yuri Yoshida rolled up to the range with her caddie. I don't know of her, just caught a glimpse of her bag. I'll try to check out qualifying on 4/29. Yuri's homework is paying off ... leads at -6 thru 17 holes. Can't be a tough setup when Muni is -4 thru 14 and J. Song is -4 thru 11. It's not especially tough. I just got back from the course. Yuri looking solid. Alex Albon was there standing by his woman. They make a cute couple. I followed Yani and Hee Young (pushing her own cart) for a bit. HYP swing looks great. Yani swing looked fine. But she is terrible obviously. I tried to explain to some of the local old folk about this legend, they had no clue. They were more excited about the F1 driver that they never heard of. Korean/Korean American amateurs (with caddy appa's) well represented here. A couple of them, Jasmine Koo and Catherine Park, in contention after R1. |

Yuri just killed it all day long ... 66-64-130, 14-under.  There are other low scores out there, but I doubt she'll be caught for 1st place.
Didn't realize The Rocket was at Soule Park ... playing well, but trails Soobin Joo, Catherine Park(a) and Min Lee at the moment ... and look out for Jasmine Koo(a), who has been burning up golf courses lately ... currently at -7 with six holes remaining (the next best score after Yuri is -9).

In Texas, it's almost all amateurs ... the current leader is Savannah Barber at -8 with seven holes remaining ... never heard of her before ... completing her second year at Oklahoma ... made a crazy scoring improvement year-over-year, from 74.63 to 70.7.  |

Coughlin is up to #54 on Rolex, so she dropped out of Seattle ... don't know why Karis was a DNS, she's #196.
Dr. Noh is Even thru 9 ... needs to do a little better, I think. Yu Liu in front at -3 thru 9 holes ... sooner or later, this one-speed ball basher will end up in a ditch ... that's when everyone else must take advantage.

What an awful day in sports , Yealimi doesn't qualify and my Knicks lose a heartbreaker. If Annie doesn't qualify, I'll have 0 interest in this tournament. Nelly or Hannah Green will probably win anyway.

She still has a chance, because she probably has one of the highest Rolex Rankings among all the alternates. |
