I don't know, I can't for the life of me figure out how Boutier has four wins. No offense, but she doesn't seem like she's that great a player. Ah well, congrats to her, she had to pull it out and she did. However, I will always think of her as the player Six owned in 2019's US Women's Open. I'm not a fan but I give her props. She has better nerve than most, gets a lot out of her game. I pulled for Thitikul, who I like now unlike when she first came on the scene as an SS killer. If an SS can't win I don't mind Thailand's success. They remind me of Korea as an emerging golf nation. Doing pretty well even without a Se Ri type to lead the way. IMO this is the LPGA year of Asian-Americans. And other westerners of Asian descent, if that is not too broad. I.e. Minjee, Grace Kim, Boutier. The east Asian diaspora or something.

Yeah, some players get a lot more from their skills than others. Not particularly long, or accurate, or great short game players or putters, yet they get in there and stick like glue until they get wins. Rachel Teske was like that. I think Da Yeon Lee is a little like that on the KLPGA.
I wonder if Boutier will be #1 next week? Celine Boutier as #1. Hard to believe.
As for Thitikul... Well, I rooted hard for Hye Jin last year as ROY, but Thitikul robbed me of that pleasure. Now Hyo Joo is primed to get Vare trophy, but here comes Thitikul... She had a HUGE advantage playing this bunny course this week while Hyo Joo took the week off, probably having no idea how easy this would be. As a result, the scoring gap has worryingly narrowed; I think she gained like a quarter stroke this week! The Thais have had enough positives this year; I sure hope they don't take this one rare accolade from the Sisters at the last moment. Go Hyo Joo!

I got tired Saturday night and so hit the sack when the final group finished hole 13. I noted that the Golf Channel was showing a repeat of the round (pared to three hours) at 4PM Sunday my time so I took the unusual (for me) step of not finding out the winner until I saw the program.
Nine playoff holes! If I had stayed up, I would have called it a night when Atthaya tied Celine with the birdie on 18 at the end of regulation.
The re-broadcast suffered from a complete lack of editing imagination. No sense of sporting drama. They repeated the first hour of the live broadcast for no discernable reason, then repeated the last two hours - meaning they cut to right when the horn blew for the weather delay. At least the edited out the delay itself! Heh!
