Round 1
Yeesh, another gruesome week in progress. No Sisters in the top 15 after round 1. And a tournament where birdies are plentiful, which rarely benefits the Koreans. So we are probably looking at a rotten week coming up. And it also ensures that the coverage will have no Korean content tomorrow, since they won't show anyone not in one of the final three groups.
Some positives. Jin Young started like a house on fire and it looked like she might be in for a low round, but lost the plot somewhere in the middle of her round, and came back after the delay with a double to fall to 3 under. She still is barely in the hunt, but she rarely contends when she has a slow start, so I'm just hoping she can rally to a top ten at this point.
Hae Ran had pretty much the same flow: good start, weak finish, 3 under. Alas, her two biggest rookie rivals both shot 65s, so she has work to do to minimize the damage.
Hye Jin was the opposite, with a slow start and three straight birdies late to finish t-16th at 4 under. Not a great score, either, but the only Korean in the top 20.
I know the Koreans can do better than this. Rally in round 2! Hwaiting!

HF, all is not yet lost... Sei Young, Hye-Jin, and Jin Young definitely within striking distance... and WHO PLUGGED IN A LIM KIM!!!
Linn Grant currently in the lead; maybe the "Fur-oo" color shirt is helping her today... my wife saw it before she went to sleep and said that color doesn't look good on hardly anyone... maybe a bit more of a green tone than Ayaka's bright fluorescent yellow...

And the 'new kids' are doing well... Rose currently tied for the lead, the tv coverage is all over her, I guess she's the 'second coming' of Lexi... CW has done nothing noteworthy before or after her single win in Portland until now, she's minus-6 today and one stroke back with A Lim, Ronnie, Hannah Green, and Suwannapura... Phil, you can give Jasmine the Harry Kalas treatment, "jas-MINE-su-WAN-na-PUR-a" although "JAS-mine-su-WAN-na-PUR-a" will also work... Pano is the only 'slacker' among the new kids, not bad but even on the day and five strokes back. Last week was the first time that Rose beat Alexa in direct competition in the same tournament since the KPMG over four months ago?

And they just keep showing promos for next year's Solheim at RTJ... and I'm glued to the commercial to see it end with images of the acclaimed Nelly and beautiful two time major winner Lilia... so what happens this time? They show captain Stacy and new kid Rose at the end...

Maybe this week, (the real) Haney should be picking Kim? Both Sei Young in the clubhouse and A Lim are minus-5 on the day and two strokes off the current lead. Go Sei Young... I'm hoping for another Lotte... you all know what I mean...

Round 2
Looks like there is still some golf to be played, but there's a suspension at the moment. Most of the Sisters are done.
Perhaps the biggest drag is that Hae Ran is having a crap week while literally all her main rivals in the rookie race are in the top 20. Whatever, she has a little padding, but I still hope she can rally and come up with something better on the weekend.
A Lim had a great day 2 and is at the moment three back. The big test for her is always following up one good round with another. Let's say this isn't her strength, but hopefully she'll be the token Korean that will get covered tomorrow. The other Korean in the hunt, Sei Young, is four back, but she's nearly as mercurial as A Lim. Still, if any Korean is overdue a win it's her.
Jin Young is seven back right now after another OK but not great day. I still feel like she has a great run in her, maybe because she was so impressive the first eight holes yesterday. We'll see. Hye Jin also six back and probably out of it, but there's still time.
Sisters hwaiting!!

If you want to watch a super hot Korean like ALK, you need to watch in person. If you are white, she'll blow you off if you make a move. Lots of Korean losers don't have the guts to talk with her. Eventually a real man will crack the complicated code.
