If you want to watch a super hot Korean like ALK, you need to watch in person. If you are white, she'll blow you off if you make a move. Lots of Korean losers don't have the guts to talk with her. Eventually a real man will crack the complicated code. I can agree that A Lim is hot, but sadly today her golf is not. The broadcast has shown more of her than any of the other sisters. I think they've shown Jin Young once or twice, Sei Young maybe three times, and A Lim at least a half dozen times. So we get to see her falling further and further behind...
I'd like to believe that Sei Young is still within striking distance for Sunday. I'll believe it more if she sinks a few more birdies in her last five holes. Let's believe that Covid never happened and it's 2019 again when Sei Young and Jin Young were unbeatable... then realize it's 2023 not 2019, back to reality, how's she going to catch all three of Zhang, Thitikul, and Suwannapura, they seem unstoppable...
The Aussie announcer just said, "What a show we have seen!"

Round 3
It's one of those sad courses where shooting a 65 can cause you to lose ground. Sei Young was really great today, and she's only three back. Final rounds haven't been her friends in the past two seasons, so I'm keeping my expectations low. If Sei Young turns the key and plays aggressively, she can still surprise. It would thrill me to see her finally get another win, but it seems so far fetched in these hard times. Well, go all out, Sei Young!
That's pretty much it; I'll probably end up on the A.B.Z. bandwagon (anyone but Zhang). Hae Ran has not had a good week, so she probably needs a Zhang loss coupled with a great final day (say 65) to salvage her week. Even if Rose wins, I think Hae Ran will still have the advantage in the ROY race, but I sure don't want to hear the relentless Zhang hype that will result if she gets another one.
Jin Young just isn't firing on all cylinders right now. She still has a shot at a top ten, and I still believe she has a great round in her, but since she isn't going to shoot a 54 no matter what Pia Nilson says, the win is out of the question.
A Lim struggled as I worried she would. I'm expecting a drivable par 4 or two on Sunday, so who knows, but like everyone but Sei Young, the win is not possible at this point.
Sisters hwaiting!

Even while Rose Zhang has missed cuts and not played too good lately the hype hasn't stopped. It just that if she wins the hype will be taken to a whole new level. I liked her when she was at Stanford, but now she always seems to have a smirk on her face.
Sooner or later A Lim is going to become focused and win a Tournament.

And she did! Birdied 16, 17, and 18... There is hope, HF...

I'm liking the broadcast a lot more than the last couple of weeks. The on-course commentator (Trish Johnson IIRC?) is a pip. She calls it like she sees it. She was dogging Rose Zhang even though she's leading the tournament. The woman commentator they had last week had the magnetism of Eeyore.
I like the graphics, too, where they show the distances to the front of the green and the flag - and the lengths of the putts.
While I found the clinking sounds when the balls dropped in the cups to be amusing during the Korea tournament, I hated hearing every tee shot sound like rifle fire. None of that nonsense here.
We complain when they don't show Korean golfers when they are playing well, last night was the opposite. They kept showing A Lim Kim playing poorly.
That all said, it's an exciting tournament. This old man stayed up until Atthaya finished her -10 round. I think I can make it to the finish tonight.

Well, there was hope... until Sei Young's double on the first hole. She and A Lim switched roles between Saturday and Sunday. Sei Young was plugged in Saturday and lost it on Sunday; A Lim lost it on Saturday and got plugged in Sunday (except the double on 13) but it was already too late... It will be an exciting finish, just without any of the sisters. I can root for Suwannapura and Thitikul; Peiyun Chien could pull a Buhai by winning her first tournament at 33, she's having a good year. Nasa has a slim chance, even more slim after bogeying 12... Phil, in honor of the Aussie announcer, we should start calling Nasa "Hata-WOKE-A." HF, I'm on the A.B.Z. bandwagon with you, but even more so, A.B.C., "Anyone But CĂ©line..."
And, I must mention that the cameras have found Nelly! She's having a good day, she's really plugged in. Clearly she won't win, but THE UNIVERSE IS BACK IN HARMONY when the cameras are on Nelly! But I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that Brooke's apparent aim for a top ten hasn't hit the broadcast yet!
I spoke too soon; they just showed Brooke's birdie putt on 16. The universe is even more in harmony...

Typical A Lim Kim thirty on front nine and thirty-seven on the back nine.
Ditto for Sei Young Kim this year, plus five through thirteen holes.
Celene Boutier or Atthaya Thitikul I would like to see win. Because they both play their best round when a Korean golfer is in the lead Final Round. I would like to see them do it to someone else.

The graphics are excellent and informative. Hope that I can stay up to the finish of the tournament tonight... but it's difficult while visiting my daughter in her small apartment.

Boutier has birdied more than half the back nine at this point. Starting to look unlikely that she will be caught. Suwannapura, Thitikul, Zhang, and Chien have outside chances... It could happen...

It's Boutier and Thitikul in a playoff, go Atthaya! Whether I can stay awake to see the result... ? ? ? Then the siren sounds to suspend play due to weather... who knows how this will end? But we can see that Suwannapura and Dryburgh have (temporarily) taken the final two spots for the upcoming CME... until next week in Japan?

This might have been the worst event of the year thus far, and that's saying something. Not only did no Koreans finish in the top ten, not even any of the ethnic Koreans like Lydia got a top ten.
I was actually going to say yesterday that on Sunday it was more likely that Sei Young Kim would have the worst score of those in the top 20 than the best, but I tried to remain positive. Alas, that's exactly what happened. I have no idea what has happened to her killer instinct, but she is definitely off.
At least Zhang didn't win, which helped Hae Ran's ROY prospects. Hae Ran had a minor rally on Sunday and still holds a commanding lead in that race. Unfortunately, they chose to have a birdie fest on a course where Hyo Joo Kim was not in attendance. Thitikul took major advantage; she gained close to a quarter of a stroke in scoring average! As a result, the Vare lead Kim had has shrunk considerably. I'm still hoping she or Jin Young can get the Vare to help make up for this utterly horrible season, but it's looking like I might be disappointed again.
I don't know, I can't for the life of me figure out how Boutier has four wins. No offense, but she doesn't seem like she's that great a player. Ah well, congrats to her, she had to pull it out and she did. However, I will always think of her as the player Six owned in 2019's US Women's Open.
Hwaiting!
