Uh oh, here we go again ... Wenbo Liu earned $955 in eight Epson tour starts this year ... that settles it, she'll finish ahead of all the Koreans on Sunday. π¦
Chanettee's win moved Elinor Sudow into the 144th field spot, which is why she dropped out of the qualifier.
Pos Player Name Nat. Par Score 1 Faith Kilgore (USA) USA -2 70 2 Wenbo Liu (CHN) CHN -1 71 After Thursday, I think that we can safely say that Wenbo Liu is not the new Chanettee... I was half-right ... "Liu" is beating all the Koreans this week. Heck, CW is not even the new Chanettee.
********
Caddie list is out ... with Dryburgh taking the week off, her longtime loop Paul Heselden is going with Linnea J. It's Team Destitute this week: Sofia Garcia going with Ivan Galdame (w/ MHL in 2015). Lewy skipped this one, so Travis Wilson is going with Jing Yan (a rare off-week for Yan's daddy).
********
So far, so good

It's good that the cut line is minus one, Sei Young Kim and A Lim Kim even with the late bogeys played good enough to make the cut. They both are capable enough to move up because they can make a lot of birdies any given day. Even better news I guess is that they are paired together.

Yes, the cut line was changing from minus-1 to minus-2 then back to minus-1 then back to minus-2 all day during round two. There were three sisters at minus-1 so it's good that they made the cut. Sei Young and A Lim and also Narin An "Anna Lynn" μλλ¦° Sei Young and A Lim are paired and the third golfer in the group is Hae Ran.
Eight sisters of fifteen made the cut at minus-1. No sister has a chance to really contend, not even Hye-Jin, but at least they can PLAY FOR PRIDE and move up the leaderboard and gain some CME points. Go sisters!

I was half-right ... "Liu" is beating all the Koreans this week. Heck, CW is not even the new Chanettee. Actually you were totally right Phil, according to (the real) Haney, "This week I'm picking Liu, there are so many of them! The 'Korean' golfer Liu always wins!" [/sarcasm]
CW had her moment of glory, her moment in the sun, she'll be playing in the CME later this fall and making some money there, she's got her card for 2024. We'll see what happens then...
I was pulling for Monday qualifier Faith Kilgore and amateur Mia Hammond, but it was not to be... I usually gravitate to cheering for the underdog...
So hard to get excited about the rest of the Kroger. Guess I'm pulling for Yuka and Nasa and some of my favorite Americans like Kupcho or underdog Americans like Szokol or Andrea Lee. And the 'new kid in town' duel between Rose and Alexa is compelling to me... oh, probably Alexa has been forgotten already... but not by me...

Minjee and Charley at the top after Round 3. Itβs an Ashes battle at the golf. And Charley started with a 7!

I was half-right ... "Liu" is beating all the Koreans this week. What a difference a day makes! Friday "Liu" was beating all the Koreans... Saturday "Liu" is trailing all the Koreans. That's Ruixin and Yu, of course.
But Friday's "Liu" (Ruixin) shot 81 on Saturday which moved her from the middle of the top page of the leaderboard to the middle of the Koreans who made the cut.
If not for Yan (T22, minus-5) it would be a very bad week for "Liu"... MHL and Hye-Jin still leading every "Liu"... "there's three of them!"

MHL made two on the par-4 10th.π€© Never mind about keeping her card, she might play for the Globe in November.π

Why do I feel embarrassed about being the one Minjee fan. She is beautiful, terse, and utterly professional. And Seoul sister-adjacent. I think you all just can't handle serious, independent women.

Make me the number two Minjee Lee fan. I walked nine holes with her Mom at ANA Inspiration and Congratulated Minjee Lee on her Kingsmill Championship win. She just hasn't done anything notable lately to post about her.

I haven't noticed any animosity or dislike of Minjee on this board. At this point, I'm hoping that she will recover from her struggles on the 11th hole and go on to win the tournament.
She does have eight career wins including two majors. In that sense, it's not big news when she does well. She does not have the 'new kid in town' vibe of say, Rose Zhang. I noticed that Rose was still being shown on the telecast at one point a few minutes ago when she was thirteen strokes off the pace. But I think Minjee is well respected and appreciated.

I like Minjee. Had a good following at Walton Heath. Happy if she wins today even if Iβm English
