Jin Young only 14 putts on the first ten holes! Six isn't going to shoot that 59... doesn't look like even a 69... and that wouldn't make the cut anyway. Gotta cheer for Five this weekend...

The GIC's anointed savior of the LPGA is stinking up this goat track today ... okay, forget about her, who do we turn to next? Got it ... Erica Shepherd, hot blonde lefty who showed off a lot of skin on her IG ... got to -2 with just five holes left ... just don't screw it up or else we have to back to Pano (-1).
******
Numbers 17 & 18 are par-fives and MHL birdied both to finish at -3. Whew ... I was worried that Unlucky Five would have to do all the heavy lifting next week.

Syd (Rolex #1462) was really something back in the old days ... and maybe now, too

Erica Shepherd, hot blonde lefty who showed off a lot of skin on her IG ... got to -2 with just five holes left ... just don't screw it up or else we have to back to Pano (-1). I didn't have the broadcast sound on for the last 90 minutes. Before that, I started to lose track of how many times they used the word "human" to describe the new kid Rose, once the bogeys kept growing. Yes, LPGA and GC have to pull out the contingency plan for the weekend. No Rose, Brooke went down too, and Lexi never even showed up. (I mean that literally, as in she didn't enter.) Shepherd was already getting some camera; Linn Grant is clearly golden and legitimately competitive. Was Sarah Kemp playing in a group that had some competitive golfers? She got quite a bit of air time for someone who just squeaked out the cut.
Five led the sisters after Friday and finished nine strokes ahead of Six. I don't think that I heard her name mentioned once during the broadcast although I did have the sound off for a while. Maybe this is her week to be "Lucky Five." Nine of seventeen sisters made the cut.
As Bailey Two made the turn... did the clock strike midnight? We'll find out tomorrow and Sunday.

Big shout-out to Hampyeong Golf High School, courtesy of MHL and Dumbo grouped at 9 AM on Saturday.

Five of the top-12 leaders have one LPGA win, but only one of the five has multiple wins (Ariya 51). I really think Grant the ball squasher has a golden opportunity to define "Moving Day" by moving away from everyone else.

The EMP (-5, T26) is grouped with Big Ryu and hoping for a big weekend. I think she's saying, "We're Number One!" Jamie Farr boosted the LPGA more than the others. And the other thing that Jamie Farr boosted was Tony Packo's! Closest Packo's location to Highland Meadows is on Alexis Rd, less than ten minutes away. You don't even have to get on the freeway; in fact, you shouldn't unless you want to go to the original Packo's on Front St, across the river from downtown Toledo. The Alexis Rd Packo's location in Sylvania is one of a few suburban locations in the Toledo area. It doesn't have the 'atmosphere' of the original location, mostly it resembles a fast food place, but all the menu items are the same. I usually go to either that one or else the one in Maumee because they are more convenient from my direction of travel in the Toledo area.
I don't think that I've been to the original Packo's on Front St on the east side for about two decades. Looking at online reviews, it seems like it hasn't changed. Same as what Jamie Farr described as his Maxwell Klinger character. It's about 25 minutes away from Highland Meadows. For as small of a city as Toledo is, the route is quite convoluted, involving four different freeways, so you're best using a GPS or at least studying Google Maps. Get on US 23 south (Toledo) then stay left to take the left exit to I-475 east (Toledo). As you get closer to downtown Toledo, stay left again to take the left exit to I-75 north (Detroit). Finally, stay right to take the exit to I-280 south (Cleveland). The first exit after you cross the modern Maumee River bridge, which used to be a drawbridge (yes, a drawbridge that opened for boat traffic on an interstate highway!) is Front St and Packo's is literally a short block right from the exit ramp. Got those directions? Toledo, Toledo, Detroit, Cleveland. Not very well known outside of the Toledo area is that the Packo family had a schism about two decades ago. After the founder died, his daughter and his son took over as 50-50 partners. The two sides of the family got into a disagreement and began suing each other in 2002. For a while, things were settled by adding a third impartial member to the board of directors, but that did not work. By about 2010, things got so bad that it was interfering with the business operation. I believe that the bank actually foreclosed or put a lien on the restaurant property at that time. Then, the business was finally placed under receivership by a court to prevent the two sides from completely destroying it. It was then sold to another operator. Some of the Packo family members were kept on, but then a year or two later, there was further conflict between the remaining family members and the new owner, resulting in more lawsuits. Then there was a dispute over exactly who owned the recipes resulting in more legal action. Then there were further disputes over the value of the recipes after one of the family members declared bankruptcy. Then there was a dispute about whether someone owned the recipes or just the list of ingredients. Then there was a dispute about how much the lawyers should be paid. I cannot make this up! Google "Tony Packo bankruptcies" or "Tony Packo lawsuits" if you are interested in even more detail...

Round 2
More meh. Only one Korean in the top 25, and that's Lee 5?? Not so sure she's got it in her to win, but best of luck to her!
I'm not sure I understand how Annie Park makes any putts with that gizmo she uses, but you can't deny she made a lot of them today.
Jin Young had it going on for a few holes, but made a crippling double that included by my count three bad breaks in two holes, including a plugged lie in a bunker that she probably shouldn't have even been in. Unbelievably, she is still in this, just six back, but here comes the point where she needs to play like the world #1. Hwaiting!
Also proud of Hye Jin for somehow toughing out another made cut. Amazing that she has yet to miss a cut since joining the tour. Hae Ran had a tidy 66. In Gee was solid but unspectacular.
Sisters hwaiting!

I kind of lost interest when Jin Young Ko hit a gap wedge from the Fairway into the bunker. I was expecting her to hit it close and make a birdie, instead she made a double bogey.

That hole was ridiculous, but sometimes golf is that way. She hit a nice drive which kept rolling and rolling until it barely went into the rough. And into a slight hole, which made this a hard shot even though it was 6 inches off the fairway and the grass was short. She hit a nice approach from 83 yards, it took a huge unexpected hop off the green and plugged in the bunker. Three bad breaks in two shots. Amazing.
Other than that she played decently. I'm hoping she can really knock one out of the park today. Hwaiting!

Sigh. Round 3, Lee5 and Annie Park both over par, so there are now no Koreans in the top 25. This looks like it will be the worst event in the history of the Sisters at this rate. Pretty much all the big Korean names are around even par today. Jin Young has hit just 50% of her greens. And there are almost no Sisters playing next week, either, so I guess it's time for a vacay for me. I don't think Jin Young is injured, so I have no idea why she's struggling. But it feels like she isn't going to fix this anytime soon. How pathetic is this? A 15-year-old Monday qualifier is outplaying all the Koreans. So is Fassi, on a course that shouldn't even set up well for her.

The Korean folks on the LPGA staff are taking matters into their own hands. Here is In Gee's second round, pretty much complete.
This is pretty much the way she plays these days. Nothing too bad, but she rarely gets close enough to make a lot of birdies. So she tends to be 20 - 40 on the leaderboard most weeks.
She hasn't had any top tens this year. I hope something will break her out of this funk at some point. Still, nice to see her in action.

I also turned the sound off when they started making excuses about why Rose Zhang was having a bad day.

Looking at the stats is the reason why some Korean players are struggling. I was just curious Stats that jump out
Driving Distance, In Gee Chun in 156 place and So Yeon Ryu is 157
Driving Accuracy, So Yeon Ryu 122, Jeongeun Lee6 is 127, Sung Hyun Park 141
GIR, Sung Hyun Park is 138, Jeongeun Lee6 is 154. These stats are from the top 161 posted
