Hye Jin Choi will be in the field. This is her first time playing on the KLPGA apparently since going to the US. According to a recent article, she has not won an event in two year and six months. Obviously a win here would be most welcome!
Shin Shil Bang will be present as well. I wonder when the last time she played a Dream tour event was? The KLPGA does not redo its priority list during the season, so even though she's playing great, unless she wins she will continue to have very low standing on the KLPGA. However, good finishes do apparently get her into more fields, though how that works exactly I don't know.

More info on Shin Shil. So, her stats don't count unless she plays in 50% or more of the events. Her problem is she doesn't qualify for them all. She is 40th in the list for entry into fields, which means she only makes events with big fields (the 132 person events usually cut off around seed 35). She won't be playing in next week's event for that reason.
If her stats were to count, however, she would be third in ROY, first in driving distance (obviously) with an average of 264 yards, roughly 6 yards longer than the official #1, Su Ji Kim; 21st in money; 2nd in GIR (76%) behind So Young Lee; and third in scoring average behind Ji Young Park and Da Yeon Lee. She has hit the ball over 280 yards 33 times officially; Su Ji Kim had 24 such hits in roughly twice as many events.
If she manages to win, of course, she will gain entry into the rest of the fields this year.

Really good round by So Yeon Ryu at minus three.
Could have been better but she left a about fifteen foot birdie putt short on eighteen.

Bang looked intimidating today. Hye Jin was solid, giving herself a lot of decent birdie chances. Yewon fell apart completely on the back nine. Ye Been Sohn was shown as being at -1 most of the day, then there was a scoring correction revealing she had hit it in the water on 13. Truly awful day for rookie star Min Byeol Kim, who will have to do something amazing to even make the cut.

Challenging conditions right now. Bang managed to get into the house at 7 under, and I can't see anyone catching her. This will be a big day for her tomorrow.
Most of the rest of my favorites are out of it, and other than Bang it's a pretty boring leaderboard. Ji had an 8 and dropped like a stone. Ye Been Sohn had a great run on her front nine, 5 under, then gave most of it back on her back nine. Amateur Sumin Oh is four back in the top ten. But most of the big names are struggling to make the cut. So Yeon looks absolutely miserable. I realize she isn't playing great, but she needs to cheer up a little, it's sad to see.

So Yeon Ryu didn't follow up her good first round with another one.
I didn't get to see the broadcast, so I didn't she her plus four round to just make the cut.
I really expected Hee Jeong Lim to easily make the cut after her finish the first round.
Still she made three bogeys but only one birdie.
Maybe instead of trying to read putts she should just slam them at the hole.
That works for a lot of golfers on KLPGA, because they don't have many big breaking putts.
This is her worst putting average so far this year since she has been on tour.

Another fun fact! 14-year-old Su Min Oh is a couple of centimeters shorter than In Gee Chun and is another young player known for her distance. In round 1, she averaged 270.6 yards off the tee, exceeding even Shin Shil Bang, who clocked 269.2 yards average.
