Still a lot of time to play...Bang holding onto a one-shot lead. It really feels like this is going to be her win, but there are still 7 holes to play, and lots of time to make a fatal mistake. We'll see if she's learned from being in this position before...

Not a lot of fireworks just a lot of really good shots from all the golfer in contention. Mi Hyun Kim2 Ga Eun Song has been up and down, but one wasn't her fault. She hit a great shot that would have been a birdie chance, but bounced off another ball almost into the water.
Poor So Yeon is trying to stay out of last place.
Ok fireworks Yeon Jung Seo just made an eagle on par five sixteen from the fairway for minus seven.

Shin Sil Bang looked like Hee Jeong Lim with that last tentative birdie putt on fifteen.
These golfers really needs to pay attention to those short putts two golfers just gave away won with misses.

Ok an early Congratulation to Shin Sil Bang, I guess she has punched her ticket to the rest of the year. She will get to top of Rookie of The Year list as well.
I really hoped that Hee Ji Kim would make that last birdie putt, because she really enjoyed herself.

Congrats to Bang, she certainly didn't do anything to sabotage herself this time, and as I predicted she got her first win. She's a full fledged rookie now, which oughtta make the rest of the year really interesting. Can Hwang and Min Byeol Kim rise to the occasion and challenge her, or will it be the Bang show from now on?
Alas, I have to say this was a pretty boring final round. No one seemed able to seriously challenge, even when one player had a holeout for eagle. Not a very interesting leaderboard other than Bang. Hopefully we'll get some of the stars playing up to their levels in the next few events.
Sisters hwaiting!

The SS Bang will be steaming into Carmel Bay in July ... assuming Rolex gives 17 points for this win, she'll shoot up to around 34th place ... she could take the next six weeks off and still be in the top-75.
********
Can't find any news on why Su Ji Kim dropped out.

This win could really be a game changer. What's impressive about Bang is that she is up near the top in so many stat categories. According to Daum:
- she is the fastest player to ever earn more than 200 million won (just five events). - Obviously first in driving distance - First in eagles and birdies per tournament - Tops in greens in regulation - 79.62% - Tops in par 5 and par 3 greens in regulation and fourth in par 4s - Tops in scoring average - 70.08. - First in rounds in the 60s %
As good as Hwang and Kim are -- Hwang, recall, had a top ten in an LPGA event last month, and Kim had multiple top tens already and won Q-School -- they are now going to have to step up their game to challenge her. There's already an article on today's Daum calling Bang the most exciting player since Se Ri Pak (!!).
It's interesting to see the similarity to what Ina Yoon did last year. Both obviously bombers, both teenagers. Like Ina, Bang started slowly, but once she started playing well, she put herself into contention often until she won. Both lost an event to Jin Hee Im that they were close to winning. And both won shortly after that. And both came from behind to challenge the obvious rookie leader(s). Let's hope Bang doesn't have any skeletons in her closet and will keep going strong, unlike Yoon.

Ok! I am going to jinx her. Shin Sil Bang driver swing is so natural, It looks like she is hitting a seven iron. I really don't see the occasional wildness that pops up on some of the long drivers. Also her putts start rolling right away and stays on top of the greens instead of sliding.

They are already posting a bunch of videos with Bang. This one came in just an hour ago:
Here's a nice one featuring the three top rookie stars. Expect more of this in the coming weeks!

My Rolex projection for The SS Bang was totally off. I didn't realize that players who played fewer than 35 events in the past 24 months have their total points divided by 35, regardless of how few events they have played (in Bang's case, it is 15). Therefore, she went from #233 to "only" #110. However, the way she is playing, top-75 on Rolex by July 3 looks quite achievable.
