Ok, let's try this again ... MHL is in today's Monday qualifier. She's got her $200 fee covered with the $6,141 she picked up for getting a T-6 at the Morongo Casino yesterday. If this doesn't work out, then it's off to Tuscon, followed by a return to Calif. for the Korean/Asian pro-am.

Maybe I'll get to see MHL in the final round. Tug is another guy that had to go through the Camp Lejuene sewer.

That Monday qualifying field has so many familiar names. Haven’t seen one stacked so much in some time.

Fellow CM Pro-Am players are grouped together: MHL with Gabriella Then and KT with Haeji Kang. Maybe they can all catch an early ride together to Temecula if they miss the cut. Judy is back on the mic this week with Grant Boone, while Pressel clutches her pearls with Mike Tirico at ANWA.

My field rating for this tournament is an excellent 77% (up from 71% last year).
The field will be led by the top four players in the world: Lydia Ko Nelly Korda Jin Young Ko Atthaya Thitikul Sixteen of the top 20 players from the this weeks Rolex World Rankings will be in attendance.
Players skipping the event this week include: Brooke Henderson Minjee Lee Lexi Thompson Celine Boutier Anna Nordqvist Linn Grant
There was some major movement in the Rolex Rankings this week as: Celine Boutier made the most important move jumping from 14-8. Georgia Hall vaulted from 22-13. Other noteable moves included Ally Ewing 39-35, Hae Ran Ryu 53-46, and Narin An 65-49. We had two players jumping back into the top 100 this week: Jenny Shin 101-96 Emily Kristine Pederson 103-98 Jin Hee Im and Bronte Law fell out of the top 100, and are no longer part of my field rating. Outside of the top 100, Stacy Lewis leaps up from 143-110.
Jin Young Ko's top ten finish this past weekend was her third of the season. She joins Nelly Korda and Ashleigh Buhai for the LPGA lead in that category.

Shin is the favorite. As long as she pulls her head out of her ass for 34 out of the final 36 holes she will win going away. You must defend your home.

Caddie list is out ... MHL has Taesik Hong (YE Hong's daddy, right?) ... no one listed next to Hong's name. Yuna got into the field at the last minute, which is probably why her loop last week, Ryan Smith, went with an amateur. Yuna has the veteran Mark Wallington this week.
... AND A GREAT START TO THE BROADCAST WITH MHL MAKING BIRDIE AT #18! 65!!!!
I thought they were in Southern California.

Round 1 Great way for Mi Hyang to celebrate her thirtieth! Monday qualify, then shoot her best round in years to take the solo lead. She has a lot of work to do to win this, but if she pulls it off, it would certainly end the need to Monday qualify! Great start also by Hyo Joo. She won her most recent event around this time last year, so maybe she feels it in the Spring? T-2nd for now. It feels like the afternoon was easier than the conditions in the morning. Even Lydia and Jin Young had mediocre starts in the morning wave (Jin Young seems to start out slowly, even in her win. This was her first over par round of the year). But there is still some time to make it right. In Gee, alas, dropped out with an injury. Not good timing; I think the Chevron is the most important event she will play this year, so I hope she is 100% healthy before then. Six.... Ouch. An 80. She seems to think she is ready to get to the top, but she's really struggled this year. And that was in the easier part of the day, too. Well, I'm always a fan. Hae Ran not so good, but Hye Jin was better. Sei Young still has a chance to make the International Crown team, but she needs to do really well here I think. Hwaiting!

Ach, Sei Young dropped out. No details yet. Seems like that will put the kibosh on getting onto the International Crown team for her, but we'll see if she gets the 4th spot despite the ranking.
