Three great par 3s & 15 holes of municipal rubbish. Poor location and unfriendly terrain for a super senior. Southern California doesn't have a decent venue until 2026.

I kind of expected this ... last tee time on Friday and MHL needs a range finder to locate all the players who left her in the dust. I looked up 'GESTO NOBILE' on her cap ... it appears to be a Korean boutique golf umbrella brand at the moment.

Another really good round by Hyo Joo Kim a clean scorecard of minus five to tie for the lead.
Jin Young Ko had a difficult back nine with three bogeys no birdies after front nine five birdies one bogey. Both her ball striking, and her putting were off.
Actually, Lydia Ko got the only birdie of the threesome on the back nine.
After three bogeys no birdies front side, Mi Hyang Lee shot even the back side with one bogey and late birdie. If nothing else if she has a good weekend, it will give her confidence going forward.
A Lim Kim a double bogey eighteen, Hae Ran Ryu made bogey on eighteen to almost miss the cut. Sung Hyun Park however made birdie on eighteen to make the cut. A lot of players was happy that the cut dropped to plus two late with seventy-eight making it.
Alas, So Yeon Ryu is still struggling with her game, had three birdies but three bogeys and a double bogey. Her driving hasn't got any better at 230 yards and eight of fourteen greens. No need to panic yet it's just her second Tournament.
Another note Lilia Vu is a really good ball striker with her irons.

Round 2 Kinda a drag that Jin Young was brilliant before the coverage started, then as soon as it did she hit a wall and made a bunch of uncharacteristic mistakes. She's probably too far back to seriously challenge, but I hope she rights the ship in round 3 and makes a little noise at least. Not surprising to see Mi Hyang stumble, but she can still get a good finish and bolster her chances to get back on tour. Hyo Joo was great, and hopefully this will be the week she gets her annual win. I hope so; other than Lee there is no other Sister in the top 20. Yeesh, not shaping up to be a good week for the Koreans. Hwaiting!

Jo Yoo Kim said the hand warmer that she carried around helped her with the cold. She said that she would keep using it.

In other news, Erika Hara, Su Yeon Jang and Human Hwang are three of five sponsor invites named for Lotte/Hawaii ... tell Jang that Crusty Grrr is waiting to slow-walk her again. MHL is not required to Monday qualify for this one.

Hyo Joo Kim had a good front nine with three birdies, but two bogeys one birdies back nine. Korean LPGA golfer has to realize that they have to keep making birdies or they won't win. Other golfers can shoot even par the last round and win but not them.
A Lim Kim had four birdies seven bogeys and a double bogey with thirty five putts.
Jin Young Ko had an ok round with six birdies and two bogeys, a top ten is doable. Her tee to green was her usual self-missed one fairway and only three greens.
Another great round for Hae Ran Ryu a clean scorecard with five birdies.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CqjqinarDl7 Congratulation to Ruoning Yin for her Dio Implant LA Open win. Hyo Joo Kim couldn't get it going on the back nine but a tie for third place is still good. A Lim Kim almost got to even par with four birdies and an eagle back nine. She jumped from seventy-seven to fifty-five so she will pick up some extra pocket change. She only missed two greens but had twenty nine putts not great but better than thirty five. Ok, I see great things coming from A Lim

Boy, that was a miserable tournament for the Sisters. Yeesh, what is this, 2021 again? I tried to watch the final round, but Hyo Joo hit poor shot after poor shot. So I bagged out after three holes. I mean, the Chinese chick played the one hole horribly, barely made bogey, and somehow Hyo Joo, who was in the middle of the fairway, also made bogey. When you're the bigger star and are given an opportunity like that, you HAVE to make it count.
That came after the two previous rounds, both of which had the Sisters suddenly play like garbage just in time for the broadcast.
About the only positive is that Hye Jin and Hae Ran got top twenties after decent final days. But this was easily Jin Young's worst week so far this year, and when you add that to In Gee possibly being injured and Sei Young also dropping out, it turned into a week-long bummer.
Ah well, hopefully it won't get much worse than this...
