To come back to my comments on In Gee and why isn't she promoted as the star she obviously is: at least Jin Young gets paired with Nelly and Thompson. In Gee gets paired with two old stars who, let's face it, were never going to make the cut and were going to distract whichever current player they were paired with, both because of the amount of hacking they would do and because the gallery would turn it into a circus-like atmosphere where concentrating would be hard. When they start putting In Gee in pairings with other like-level stars and in tee times where she gets on the broadcast I'll know they are interested in promoting her. Y'know, they might not treat In Gee like a Henderson-level player in terms of pairings, TV time during tournaments, etc., but I will say that they have increased her coverage in other ways. I think her winning the Velocity fan vote this year might have clued them in. This year we've seen the video about In Gee's nomination for the Velocity award, another one about In Gee's struggles (by Golf Channel), the Drive-On focus at the KPMG, and at least one on-course interview posted on Instagram. Sure, it's not a lot, but it sure beats what most of the Sisters get. Even Jin Young hasn't gotten that much attention this season. I would LOVE to see at least one rookie profile of Hae Ran Ryu. Considering they give us three profiles of Zhang every week, would it be so much to ask for one about Hae Ran in the entire season? |

The motel rooms are cheap, but I won't go to Lancaster if there are 10,000 morons rooting for In Gee.

Still better than going to an event and having 10000 morons mis-identify In Gee as Michelle Wie (I've seen this happen at least three times). One thing's for sure; they definitely know In Gee in Lancaster!

Funny you should mention that ... I made reservations last week for Wed. & Thu. night and it came to about $65 per night including all fees and taxes (no money down, too). If I recall, that is a couple dollars LESS per night than what I paid at Knights Inn in 2015 (which I think is a Red Roof now). The one big difference in 2024 is that I'm staying south of the Park City Center mall, which I assume will be used for shuttle parking again ... I was east of LCC on Route 30 near the outlets in 2015. Park City has a McDonald's near it that opens conveniently at 5 AM on weekdays.
The USGA ticket options are quite inflexible at the moment ... get six days (Tue. thru Sun.) for $150 or a group of five any-day tickets for $175 ... WTH, I plan to be there Wed. thru Fri. only. I'm sure they'll come up with more economical options early next year.

I witnessed an Asian spectator mistake another spectator for Michelle Wie. "That's OK. I get that all the time" said the look-a-like. She did resemble Michelle somewhat facially but stood only 5 foot 4 or 5 foot 5.
It was cold at Pebble Beach in the early rounds especially on the exposed holes like 6. I brought a stocking cap for the first time to a tournament and am glad I did.
