Kum Kang Park shot a 64 on day four to vault up the leaderboard. No worries about the cut line anymore!
Yae Eun and Mi Hyang are barely on the right side of the cut with a lot of work to do today. Nail biter!

Looks like an all-star group made it right on the cut line: MHL, Yaeeun Hong, Mo Stacks, Team Pano, EMP-In-Training Ashley Lau and Singapore's Amanda ("Don't call me Kelly!") Tan.

Mi Hyang Lee cut it close with bogeys on fifteen and sixteen, clutched up with birdies on seventeen and eighteen. Yaeeun Hong made bogey on eleven to drop to minus one, finished with one birdie no bogeys to make the cut.
Seaulki Lee blew it after making birdie on ten to get too minus four, had three bogeys no birdies after that.
The two best final round scores were clean cards of seven birdies by Hae Ran Ryu and Kum Kang Park eight birdies. Actually, Kum Kang Park was near the top or leading the Epson Tour but had bad finishes the last half of the year.

MHL pulled out of a nosedive at the last minute. So, she is ahead of last year when she got bounced after Week One ... even that didn't turn out to be a disaster, as she got into 15 events in 2022 ... was helped a lot by the reshuffles. Still has a long climb to get one of the better status positions for 2023 ... criteria:
2023 Status:
• Players finishing in positions 1-20 and ties earn LPGA status in Category 14. • Players finishing in positions 21-45 and ties earn LPGA status in Category 15 and Epson Tour status in Category C. • Players finishing outside the top-45 and ties, who complete all rounds before the cut, will earn Epson Tour status.
*********
I don't know what has happened to Gillman ... since making about a half mil in 2019, her game has cratered in a linear fashion ... maybe she went to the wrong Q-school ... try Japan next year, at least she has a win there.
*********
Brianna Do was another one-shot whiff ... too bad, she brings some nice optics to the course.
*********
YUGE choke by Maria Torres ... was -2 thru Saturday and blew up with a 77 (+6) on Sunday.

Japan's TV Wowow has been covering this ... Rounds Five thru Seven will be VOD (you need a login) ... Sunday's round will be shown on TV Wowow Live channel on Monday at 11 PM (Japan time). I don't know rogue streams for these.

Let's see what these old timers are made of. It would be easy to be a cashier at the lucrative car wash you own. Instead you have to scramble against a bunch of inferior players. Another player's irons are rubbish. based on her position on the cut line. You better remember something super fast. My late dad said things always work out in life.

Really solid 67 by Hae Ran on Friday, the second-best score of the day. Unfortunately for her, the best score was turned in by Gabsa, allowing her to take a four-shot lead. But Hae Ran is in second and has two more rounds to see if she can grab this title. I think she is the best player on this leaderboard, so she has a chance at least. Good luck!

I notice that the Golf Channel story about Q-Series Week 2 did not include Hae Ran in their 'players to watch'. Big surprise there. Q-Series Players to WatchGreat round 7 66 for her to overcome a four shot deficit and take a two-shot lead into the final round. Good luck, Hae Ran! Knock 'em dead! Kum Kang Park is four back and nicely positioned to get her own card. Mina Yoon is well within a card and just a small gap from getting a full card. I'm pretending that Ina Yoon changed her name to Mina Yoon to fly under the radar. (yeah, I know they are not the same person).

Jennifer Song and Su Oh are struggling. I hope they have some kind of status to fall back on if they don't do well this week.

Hae Ran wasted years playing on Korean cow pastures. That's in the rearview mirror.
