Hae Ran Ryu didn't have a good first round probably because she thought the courses would be tougher. So maybe she was a little nervous, then she realized that the courses were easier than the ones she played on the KLPGA Tour. After that she said I got this and proceeded to cruise through the Tournament.
Kum-Kang Park almost shot her way out of the top ten with a plus one score. Also, after leading the Epson Tour a top ten should have been easy to get her card there. But she faded the last half of the year, however she can climb the Priority list like Hye Jin Choi.
Really disappointing that Yaeeun Hong and Mi Hyang Lee didn't get their card.

Hae Ran wasted years playing on Korean cow pastures. That's in the rearview mirror. This is what you said in 2016, time flied: IGC will win soon enough. But, once Haeran Ryu gets on tour, the others will be playing for second.

At this point the only person "wasting away" in the KLPGA seems to be, in my opinion, Park, MinJi who won't share the purse with others. I'm quite sick of her winning ways. She should win...somewhere else. I'll be proud of her and thrilled when she is out of the KLPGA and winning on another tour.

yuna nishimura finish was 25th place will need to play epson tour if she stays in the usa....
The 2023 Epson Tour sked is not posted yet ... assuming it will look like 2022, that tour will tee it up starting in March ... for getting acclimated to the USA, it would be a good idea for Yuna to play there. Of course, it's also possible that her greedy management team will sell her on the idea of going after BIG money on the JLPGA until a spot opens up at a future LPGA event ... which might not be for a while ... maybe Lotte in Hawaii (numerous dropouts last year) ... or maybe not until Shoprite, where it will be All Hands On Deck.
Yuna's predicament did not elude the Japanese media ... per Google mush, she is undecided about 2023 at this early stage:

The Old Goofball is riding high these days ...
... now let's see Big Ryu make a two-putt at the Seaview's 6th green ... or the 7th ... or the 10th ... or the 15th ... or the 16th ... or save par from the shaved drop-off in front of the 4th green ... or just-plain survive the par-4 2nd hole ... she won't be in Kansas anymore.

Really disappointing that Yaeeun Hong and Mi Hyang Lee didn't get their card.
I'm curious to see what MHL's status ranking will be in January ... she did not bomb out of Q-series after one week like last year ... I think it is logical to assume she'll have a higher ranking over last year ... I think she was around #187 when she started 2022. One problem for 2023 is that she will NOT have an exemption into Chevron, so she has to replace that opportunity elsewhere. It bugged me that she was so inactive during the first five months of 2022 ... I think she'll have to stoop down to the Epson Tour early on to establish some forward momentum.

Hae Ran! You're an all-star! Got your card now! You're a rookie... (I always have that Shrek song in my head when Hae Ran is doing well!) Congrats to Hae Ran on winning Q-Series. She was the best player in the field, and she proved it. Good luck to her getting the ROY next year! Nice top ten for Kum Kang Park as well. Pity that Yaeeun, Mi Hyang and Mina Yoon were not able to get cards; better luck on the Epson tour. Hae Ran is going to tower over those Japanese rookies, considering this photo and the one they took with Mollie.

I wonder if Karen Chung (T-28) will fall into the same trap as a few years ago: play the LPGA when there are openings, but run out of chances to get into the Epson top-10. Of course, winning solves all problems, right? At the very least, she needs to return to the Last Chance Saloon (Shoprite/Acer), where her mom(?) once informed a spectator at 8th fairway crossover that, "she is a good player ... and a good girl!"
********
Most of these names ... and most of these scores ... I just can't take them seriously. Among the top-45 that I've seen in person, have they been on Mannika juice?! Finkelstein can hear her drives hit the fairway ... ditto for Ridderstrom, who can't putt to boot ... Charlotte Thomas showed me nothing at the Seaview ... okay, Krauter punched above her weight at the 2021 USWA, but I NEVER thought she was this good ... really, did she ever outplay The Zhangster or Heck once at Stanford? Maybe Rose should have shown up for laughs to shoot 40-under.
Conversely, Duncan, who can drive it long and knows how to scramble, should have done a lot better than T-38 ... and Bianca, you're killing me ... how do you finish 18 strokes behind Krauter last Thursday?! It's nice that J. Song punched her ticket for another season of NOT winning.

Q-Series is basically an Epson Tour event with more pressure. A player from a real tour like Ryu just has to adapt quickly to green types she might not often see, and she should have no trouble notching a top ten. Remember that woman who ran away with Q-School that one year? I don't either, because she did nothing once she got to the LPGA.
It's a bummer that Yaeeun Hong struggled, but it feels like she has potential but hasn't realized it yet. She was on a par with players like Yewon Lee and Ye Been Sohn back in her amateur days, but perhaps it would have been wiser to go to the KLPGA for her first few years instead of tackling the LPGA? As we've seen, some players like Sohn have taken a lot longer to acclimate to the pro ranks, and it looks like Hong is one of those. Well, we'll see...
