KLPGA:2022 KB Financial Group Star Championship (Major)

KB Bank or Financial Group has sponsored one or more events since 2006.  KB has sponsored events at many courses. 

Black Stone has three properties, hence the Icheon in the name. Black Stone Icheon Exclusive Golf Club began hosting this event in 2017.
(yes, it's Black Stone, not Blackstone.)

Those pictures look amazing. 

I look forward to walking the course during the final round. I don't know where or when, but there have been members of the public not allowed into a KLPGA event due to dress code violations. This is probably the most high class, members-only type place in Korea. I am not going to take any chances. Dress appropriately.

15-under seems to be a magic number. 

Last week was not intended originally to be a week off. There was an event scheduled: the Elcru Pro/Celebrity event, which pairs KLPGA stars with celebrities. Last year's champ was Hae Ran Ryu:



Apparently one of the sponsors, Daewoo, backed out at the last minute. According to the KLPGA, they have a contract whereby if a sponsor backs out so close to the event, they are required to pay 75% of the purse to the tour. As a result, Daewoo is now trying to claim they will pay if the tour reschedules the event for November, but that's not an option apparently.

According to an article I read, the organizers of the event dropped the ball when they tried to get the course ready, and the course owners immediately opened the course that weekend for ordinary folks to reserve tee times. The KLPGA has not given any more details. Sounds like a bit of a mess.

Park Hyun Kyung missing a major? Wow. I hope she's okay. Maybe a family wedding or death called her away. I hope she's okay. Doesn't seem like anything minor would keep her from a major.

The Fairways will be narrow and the rough high and under laden greens.
The rough will not be as high as Hanwha and not to difficult to get out of.
Also the yardage will be about eighty yards shorter than the Hanwha Classic.

Park Hyun-kyung's father, Pro Park Se-soo, said, "Hyun-kyung seems to have been diagnosed with Corona 19 during the Chuseok holiday, and she is currently quarantined at home."
