Round 2
I was hoping that somehow we'd get through the 2nd round without someone taking a huge lead, but nope, didn't happen. Looks like another snooze fest in the making.
The LPGA should be ashamed of themselves to let this Major be set up this way. 14 under after two rounds? Please. And the back nine is set up way too easy, particularly the final five holes.
The Sisters are playing OK but it looks like this one is already over. Unless one of the Sisters near the top shoots a 62 or 61 tomorrow, I'd say they might as well start preparing for the British.
Jin Young didn't play badly, but on this course, you don't win unless you produce at least one ridiculously low score. Sei Young is still 6 back despite being tied for third, as is So Yeon, but can they actually move into contention? They've been playing well, but there is a record of some pretty dicey rounds from them lately. Hope they can conquer their demons like In Gee did. Speaking of whom, her over par round put her out of this. I'm still hoping she can shoot a great one tomorrow and at least have a run at a top ten.
Hye Jin made the cut and shot a tidy 68. What must Minjee be thinking, now 11 shots back?
Six is falling apart at the seams. So sad to see her struggle like this. I might have expected a par or slightly over round, but a 79? That was the worst score of the entire day. Ye Gods, that's verging on complete collapse. And on an easy course she shot a 61 on last year in the second round. 18 shots worse. I feel really sad for her.
There's still a slight chance that the leaders will have slightly cooler putters on the weekend and perhaps Jin Young, In Gee, Hyo Joo, Min Ji or So Yeon can throw down a great round to get back in this. I'm not holding my breath, but.... Hwaiting!!
